yeah me to! but aparently its a ###### to set up but it needs something like it and maybe flash the hazards too! id rather have a flat battery than damage like that!

dent is out simply used a suction cup..... and a push from behind with the fat end of a screw driver.... all thats left is a small shopping trolly sized accident

now fix that rattling bottom balljoint will, and the car will be faultless (Y)

since i had the tracking done the steering wheel has been a little off centre... we both agreed it must have moved when they clamped it!

however today i noticed that over 45 or on power (accelerating) i have to correct it a little more as its pulling to the right ffs

positive stuff!

fixed this wednesday

well been kinda busy recently but on friday i had this damage happen

1320486445935.jpg

1320486433472.jpg

1320486445935.jpg

then on saturday i changed the oil and filter, then my water leak had come back into the cabin, so i removed the wipers, removed the scuttle panel, and the wiper motor linkage, regreased the linkage and the mechanism as it all worn badly, but luckily the squeak has gone after a good clean and soaking in engine oil.....

then resealed the small clip area and refitted back together i the hope squeak doesnt come back, and the leak isnt still there!

and then today i had to repair the head lights, some time ago my connectors on the rear of the lights had melted, and i replaced them :) however there was damage to the fusebox and wedged a new fuse in at the time, however over time this has failed miserably and been with only 1 headlight since about JAE, so today i went about the fix!

the problem

the cuase
1320674784514.jpg

2 fuse holders solderd together, the main is solderd together and then the other 2 are left for each feed for each light
1320677047549.jpg

well hidden inside the fusebox where the abs actuator would be if i had ABS
and bodged with 20a fuses as i had no 15's

hopefully it will last and not set my car on fire haha

today went to see ed at fusion just for some friendly help...

and discovered that when the tracking was done they crumpled the gaitors and there now stuffed! so need a new pair!

and also discovered that the newer wishbone isnt actually right so its a very bad pattern part and has given up already with allowing the wheel to move about an inch back to front....

happy days

took a while to remember where i left this.....

fixed it, nmaybe i havent, it works but still makes noises?

im no good at this rhyming lark that zed does doh!

How low is this running mate?? mine is on matiz springs and its about an inch off the floor os have to avoid potholes / road camber and speedbumps, do you have the same difficulty??

the car is coming along lovely since the beginning, so keep up the good work buddy :)

Craig

i dont think as low but its terrible around here, sleeping policemen everywhere, and i scrape on most, uni car park is terrible... i wouldnt dare go lower tbh

:grinning: you got the car rhymed up nicely ,,,,,,,,,thats the main objective geeeeeza:grinning:

mmm indeed im getting tracking redone for free tomorrow because when they last done it creased the hell out of the gaitors and thyve ripped themselves to shreds, so ive replaced them both now anyway!

just a small update really.... been bit busy lately

replaced the damaged lower arm which was replaced earlier this year as it was the wrong one

1321995531548.jpg

off a k10 maybe? or a very bad paten part!

sorted the brake, new disks and pads

as new

throught the wheel
1321995535604.jpg

removed and shotblasted the front callipers and painted them with 2k same colour as my car as it happens! refitted and bled through a dirty bit of brake fluid suggesting they need bleeding again!
1321995486839.jpg

other stuff going on... when i had the tracking done they screwed up the steering rack gaiters and it ripped them apart, so fitted new ones and had the track done for free!

got a little done to help with the winter hell!

fitted my winter wheels which are these

1322651352982.jpg

1322494572116.jpg

1322494562214.jpg

tiny little scrping on the drivers side rear, which a little more adjustment of the panhard is needed me thinks, and found the nocking was the panhard being slack!

and i thought id use these wheels as good tread, bigger diameter maybe help with wheel spinning in snow, and raise the car a bit instead of messing about with suspension! seems to be going well!

undersealed the inner edges of the sill, and areas where scrapage has been going on!

1322493954434.jpg

and i thought instead of buying new rear speakers id reuse the ones i had before in the rear which collaped the already broken parcel shelf!

firstly mark where to cut
1322659762909.jpg

cut out roughly with dremel
1322660101092.jpg

then work out towards the line, although i didnt want to get too close, as this would make it a little weaker

so working outwards untill the speaker fitted snugly
1322660938487.jpg

1322660951588.jpg

marked and drilled the holes
1322662679798.jpg

and a lick of paint to the parcel shelf to show a glimpse of a long term going plan

Cheers mate, they suit the car lovely... im considering fitting my 15" just for winter like you have but cannot be arsed with tyre scrape off every bump in the road :S

i hate that, they do laser alignment to get your tyres pointing in the correct direction...... then leave you with your front camber .6deg out.

if it was a race car you could gain some serious lap timeage with a propper adjustement.
my mr2 was done at bush tyres and they just left it and said "yeah, that will do mate, its as close as we can get it"............ my reply was £30? well.... £20 will do mate, thats as close as i can get it" !:p

haha that camber adjustment is to do with the way my susopension is set up im affraid!

slotted holes for the loss i believe so darn hard to get it level equally

heating is still a bit naff but it will do the job this winter!

rear speakers are nearly in though more pics to follow!

drastic change to this project though!

as said a drastic change to this car not exactly for the worst!

basically i bought this car a AE92 toyota corolla GT-i

this will be my main focus for the forseeable future

i drove it around the other day and loved it from when i sat eyes on the car, drives well just needs a gear box and clutch....

but back to the plan....

sell stuff related to the micra that isnt fitted etc, to fund the corolla.... carry on well maintaining the micra obviously....

get it road worthy and drive it for a while to sort it out and track all niggles down!

garage it again and fully rebuild!

during the rebuild i shall be returning the micra to near stock to fund this work, then either sell it or keep or just incase!

but back to the micra

sorted the cooling by sorting a new air feed and replaced the metal plate at the front of the bay, enables the engine to heat up much quicker

1323533610923.jpg

raised the rear for these wheels as they were catching
1323530537094.jpg

properly set the camber today and tightened the panhard rod!

getting crappy mpg in this weather though!
