My Micra Dot Rising To The Top! :)

well today was the day that i sent my car towards the south pacific with the help of karl

left around 9am and got about 28m short and found a esso garge for 131.9 so that was sweeeet
and got to his at 11am met charlie :D

well the front just put on for noiw

but look at the difference here, about 3 inches between the corsa coilovers and the bilstein shocks with -50 springs fitted
1315132346377.jpg

rears were fitted but we decided to to let off another half coil
like so
1315145556343.jpg

in the mean time let the car down and let it sit on the jack fully lowered and the jack still woulodnt come out lol
1315145646367.jpg

that is indeed sitting on the jack! lol

and the final result here, but obviously it hasnt been driven so the susp will settle a bit more
1315149996274.jpg

the ride is awesome but a little bumpy but i have a soft bum to make up for the hard suspension haha... i couldnt get it to step out a singal bit on the way home! (Y)

althought on hard turn ins the wheel on the outside touches the arch so ill look into it tomorrow see what i can do! if nothing ill simply raise the car a little again and get away with it!

but i managed the notice the front left bottom mount had come a loose as i could hear it wobbling constatly and cna feel it when rocking the wheel in and out!

will sort these bit out during the course of tomorrow!

the rear have been fine no scraping with the weight of the tool box, jack and bits in the boot! and the panhard needs to be adjusted still so that should be fine! illl try getting my parents in the rear or some mates and see how it goes! if im dragging the bumper along the floor ill either add the coil back in with my other springs or add the other bump stop i have to force it to keep its butt in the air!

This truly looks amazing! I love the wheels (always have loved the style) and would love a similar set.

I have never really looked into lowering as I have a pram, 2 kids and myself and wife in the car on most journeys so worried about scraping but am tempted to look a bit closer into it now!

Ah well stani that's my rubber arm twisted enough! Lol!! I've no real money for mods at the moment. Got a few bills to clear then insurance and tax in nov. Of course then Xmas and mot in January. Once I get passed it I might have put enough money aside to lower it. It's so annoying having plans in your head and no money to be able to start them!!

long socket couldnt find it last night when i thought the top mounts were loose or whatever but i used my small one lol

getting noise around that area whilst driving ?
and why trouble karlj over sockets, his has already been wiggl'd an jiggl'd in his double shunt ?

no rush mate! ill probably find it anyway lol... i still needd to dig the socket out from under my carpet lol... the front left is deffinatly loose can kinda wobble the wheel lol.... remember what the setting was for our camber adjustment? so i dont need to measure the other sside?

still no spignot rings!

centre caps came today but very annoyingly there too damn small ffs

well today has been busy getting ready for JAE and just cos i had time today! i thought id check out the suspension which was tight as so must be something else but after looking i didnt hear it after so maybe it fixed its self?

well i remeasured both sides checking the height see if its still fine and it was all good
1315389823607.jpg

and camber was perfectly fine but i didnt bother taking a pic of how this was measured

also because i now had spigot rings and centre caps i went about getting these on

the rings
1315389629022.jpg

test fitted
1315389716974.jpg

although 2 dont fit which is like wtf so maybe there machined badly but im going to file them down when i get to it!

and the centre caps... were slightly too small but that was fixed with some duct tape
the caps!
1315244331099.jpg

duct tape
1315390917106.jpg

1315390924289.jpg

centre superlite badge fitted... looked too tacky all silver
1315392903043.jpg

test fitted
1315390986954.jpg

next was to sort out the front arches which rubber on cornering fast and hard haha which i solved with a rubber malet...

before how the wheel afected it
1315391049054.jpg

and then bashed back with a heat gun and rubber malet... dunno how good these pics show it
1315391867478.jpg

1315391886369.jpg

1315391903757.jpg

a long time ago when i gad my compos on and i had refitted my bumpers after colour coding i had left out a bolt and damaged the arch liner :glare: so i changed it today with one steve gave me!

the old one
1315391256521.jpg

after i was finished took a couple of picures of final result
1315396096659.jpg

1315396111998.jpg

today i went to straighten out the front bumper to make it look more presentable... done this by jacking up the front bumper mount which worked! must hae been bent as there are signs of it from damaged paint on it from the bends!

but from jacking it up my dodgy cosmetic repair on the x-member failed badly!
1315411460800.jpg

i got bored and jabbed it
1315411469489.jpg

then while i was at it i thought id do my lights which went kinda wrong... basically i wanted to paint them black!

first one stripped well
1315413372290.jpg

second one i ####ed ffs i need to go scrappers and get one tomorrow
1315413362817.jpg

masked and painted
1315415979261.jpg

also removed most of the sealant and used black sikaflex instead and refitted it!

ill do the other tomorrow when i get a new one!

thanks for reading

wtf after doing all the work in the front arches and stuff it drove fine and dead straight now took the missus home its all over the place! all i done was turn on the stop so i could get in the arches for the bumper! something is deffinately wrong! :(

camber is done by slotting the strut on these corsa coilover shaun! and we just measured the distance from the edge of the strut to the hub in a certain point which was a hundred thou out which wasnt bad!

and i know its the rack anyway a brand new one is £48 id rather just change the lot!

Ah okies... just when my top suspension bolt was loose lol you could feel the wheel drooping over to each side...

well ive tracked a brand new steering rack for £48 inc VAT!

well some photowhoring from JAE

the above you youll see one that says peedbumps.... basically the problem was that it said speedbumps, be patient im lowered! the sticker was such poor quality from a trade stool that i was ripping it off and pulled the S off and just started laughing so its staying like it for now!

new exeon bulbs much better now can actually see!

also picked up my rear spoiler from Ralph! top guy and very funny/mental indeed! not sure which words best describe him!

bumpers will be ready soon lol

your car looks good cause of no spoiler (rear tinted screen fully visible against gleeming red)
now you wanna put a spoiler, which one ? i may not allow this :grinning: i'll let you know

zed its the same spoiler as your lol and it looks good! going by Joe's car as he has tints and a spoiler!

1316183261622.jpg

this appeared down my road today and i thought the original micra was haunting me! lol

but bit of a transformation eh!

Well the red and black goes really well (Y). A bit more colour coding would look good too (Y). Makes me miss my K11 now

took a disturbing look under the bonnet today and found some metal filings on top of the suspension mountings
on the side it has been knocking!
1316449053256.jpg

took the top mountings all apart! and the sleve which was put in there has been well worn away and very thin in places!
1316449559873.jpg

and has worn out some of the surronding parts
1316449581673.jpg

1316449599596.jpg

1316449614427.jpg

lots and lots of metal fillings on top of the mountings
1316449637895.jpg

deep gouges on top of the cup!
1316449945217.jpg

so when i reassembled i packed this
1316449559873.jpg

with duct tape and fitted it all back together with plenty of copper slick and hope it holds out till i find a better fix!

in the mean time lets see evidence of scrapeeeeeeeeeeee
