what did you do to your micra today ?

better to lube the drill bit so"s it dont get too hot ! couple of shots of wd40 does the trick the the bit will last the80 odd hard spot welds also id dot punch the welds first to give the bit something to initially bite on

Yes, they updated and rereleased the original manual with coilpack stuff. I had to buy one the other day when I put a coilpack engine in

Popped into my local engine tuning garage today and enquired about a re-map. Nope, waste of time they said on an engine that small.
Ok, what about putting a turbo on her, yep do that ok.......be between £4k and £5k......really....see ya again - not.

4-5k for just the ECU & remap?

or 4-5k for the complete turbo hardware conversion & remap?

I spoke to Fusion earlier this year and Ed said it would be 2.5k to 3k for full turbo setup. Less if some stuff was done yourself like fitting new clutch and new ECU.

Gave a very very good of my Micra at last, received my load spreading wahers (for my top mounts) from Rix engineering and my rear springs from Matt Hampris.. Happy days :)

U can have 2.0 turbo engine fitted and mapped with Ecu and custom shafts at 1500 pounds I bet my money on this, @frank

Mapping is the most expensive part, yes you could have a 2.0 put in for £1500 but you'd have to do a lot of the work yourself I.e source donor car, prep both cars

Go to any reputable garage that deals with conversions and you'd be talking £5/6k

this ^ and you end up with a car that no-one will insure, may as well just buy a factory 2.0T hatchback

Am saying this coz I done it my self, donor engine and all parts from the engine didn't cost 400 pounds, Ecu mapped cost 30 pounds, @frank your right there it's insurance main bit because I was lucky and changed the engine number over and cc on log book i been quoted 1400 pounds with 9 years NCB a build to fight over sr20

Where are you getting a remap done for £30?

If you want cheap insurance kit cars are the way to go, after all they're home built so any modifications are just part of the car and not viewed as money making cows by the specialist insurance companies.

I agree with u the fact is if it's done right on log book and told insurance on all the mods and u can pay the extra cost who cares

I was offered a Jaguar XJ8 4.0 litre V8 on a V plate with 40k on the clock, in black, and very good condition For £3K yesterday.
Please talk me out of buying it....o_O Or on second thoughts, put that engine in bam a lam ?

My insurance went up to £465 from £200 when I put the 1.4 in. If I'd have bought a 1.4 it would have stayed £200. Hey ho.

Insurance is always a challenge regardless of the vehicle.

My daily costs more to insure than the K11 turbo but it's not common to insure one for commuting and 10k+ miles per year.

200 is nothing and not worth it for minor grains, am happy what I'll be paying for big grains, 2 options open for me traders or my car insurance

right am gona tell everyone about my long trolled story, this goes to all the person on this Fourms, last 2 years I was on here i started with a Micra 1.3 and bought many parts as I wanted a Micra turbo so I started with td04 turbo and eBay pipes and cooler, at this point it was too much for me, and costing in parts, so put that in for sale for the turbo and manifold, with pipes, a guy from Scotland bought it 550, I scraped the car, after few weeks I bought a Micra 1.3 lx , this point I wanted to start fresh a build a turbo I had t25 Saab, Ecu from ed, and nistune, injectors, new paddle clucth, basically the lot, only was mapping to do at eds but sadly it was at london am from Sheffield and I can't take car up there coz it was misfiring and had problems, towing it there would cost 300 pounds plus mapping price, and thought what do I do, it was costing to much, so sadly this kit got sold on eBay, lost out but what can I do, now I only had my Micra with engine in sold engine for 80 pounds and box for 40, but didn't wana sell the car coz its old L reg and I love the preface since its 1994. So few months after got many ppl on here saying fail again mate, and been warned, not to promise, at this point I kept the car and was rusting, few days after I invested in many tools, welders, grinders, engine host, and went extreme kept quiet and did my own thing, my own maths, cutting, and learning, and started with finishing off the rust, made my own cross member custom made, but thought I don't want a 1.3 engine, so thought of ideas, and came up with something and kept it quiet for 2 years, i admit I did burn holes with arc welders, then bought a mig and without this I would have never done this, who's gona help me ? My engine crane is, who's gona give me answers? Google is, who. Who's gona do mapping when it's done ? Find a Ecu what is standalone, what does engine conversion involve ? Custom shafts, engine mounts well I can make that I have mig, who's gona do wiring I can since I got Micra Manual, what about the brakes since its more power ? Gtir brakes. And that's what made me do this, and that's why I don't do blogs no fair on many ppl who keeps asking but that's my story, if ur not sure about anything it's simple to ask, if u wana start a build keep it quiet that's my word,
@frank
