If Karl did that I suspect Celina would be wearing his you-know-whats as ear rings  :D.

Due to a number of factors such as weather, gritters and general laziness on my part, my wheels were starting to look rather sad :(

Thought I had better give them a bit of TLC
Will hopefully be doing a full refurb or even a complete change, at a later date and am open to ideas ;)

Then split engine and gearbox

So that the fly wheel can be removed for a little lightening

Never knew you were a mechanic Jay :). What kind of price does your place charge for a cambelt charge? I'm dreading it even though I'm only at 20,000 ish at the mo .

After realising the Sportex was hitting and rubbing against the heat shield next to the fuel tank I decided to make some fine adjustments

My facelift has the the wiring for front fog lights taped to the loom. No idea if earlier cars were the same, worth checking. I'm with Frank, foglights are all show.

there are few members who added s bumpers on their prefacelift k11s

markbognor is no help - he hasn't bothered wiring his up :) - it's o that list of jobs I might get round to doing one day. I'll be fitting a relay that is independent from the main loom and using an extra rear fog lamp switch in the unused space on the dash - well that's the plan anyway!

Wdid? Well over a couple of days finishing today.. this :)

IMAG0036_zps1731248c.jpg

masked again for white fill in
IMAG0041_zpsd96803ba.jpg

bit messy but not bad first go (tried to touch up the edges a little but the spattering made it worse so i gave up) also lacquered it to stop the letters corroding and getting dull
IMAG0049_zps343fb80b.jpg

marked up the sprockets etc and changed the cams (sorry theres not many pics i mainly took odd looking ones for reference)
IMAG0051_zps1ef68dba.jpg

Reassembled it all with the new cover on :) I'll have a second go at cover spraying when i do the rebuild (that being whenever i get round to it and have time) but til then i think it looks ok!

Edit: just a note the oil all down the side is from a bad seal on the old cover, hopefully this one will do a better job!
