"a lead time of days (not weeks or months), is the type of work we specialise in".

opened up the springs today. took my front suspension off today but ran out of time to get them to a garage to swap over the springs. and took me a load of time to get a top strut nut off which i had overtightened a few months ago doh!!. had to file it down etc.
so will leave car as it is until moday morning and garage can change the springs over for me. i dont go near spring compressors so i wont be doing it.
i have measured my old spring height will let you know what the new height is when they are fitted on monday.
in case you wanted to compare with what you have at the moment to what i currently have with 35mm drop springs.
i have measured from centre of wheel to arch rim..
front left 34cm
front right 32.5cm
rear left 34cm
rear right 32.5cm

difference from left to right "should" be becasue of tilt in road where it was parked. interesting that height is same front comapred to back.
would be nice to see other peoples measurements pre powercoil fitted.

springs will have to be revised. they are too tall. the drop is about the same as 35mm drop springs, no lower. the traction seems quite good. the rear feels good but the front end is a little wobbly from still being a bit too high. also could be the spring rates a bit soft aswell. i will evaluate more during the week. and come with a figure for the springs to be further dropped by and probably increase the spring rates aswell as they seem quite comfortable over bumps. after the spec is ready for next set i could either evaluate them again. or go for it and hope the revised set are just right and we all get them at once..?

paynee will let you know if extra can be ordered i would think so yes. for the k10 i'm not sure what the price is.

is there any chance that the springs could need to settle and will get lower, its no problem gettin the springs redone just be best to make sure, dont want to get the springs made shorter and then find there too short

should be able to get another set of k11 springs added to the group buy, k10 will be £150 as there a one off order so you would be best to get in touch with powercoil direct, as for k11 ill let you know. what about our springs guys, beachboy has a benchmark now so if yous wanted we could get all the springs done together or get another trial set and add another month onto the wait

at the moment they are about same as a 25mm drop i expect after bedding in they will settle to the same as 35mm drop. at the moment the ride height is higher than my 35mm drop springs. they are averaging 10mm higher at the moment.

sooo wot if they go about doing their business the way they are, but for ppl who want 60mm drop, we just tell them to make 90mm for example according to their measurements, but which would really turn out to be 60mm according to our measurements.

or is that just too risky?

well if anyone wants a set, i will no longer have the micra, and i have order 50 rear, 65 front, so you can have those from me for say £90! that means paynee would post to you direct then!

another trial set!! i dont fancy paying that much and waitng so long for a 35mm drop. :( Even if it mean another trail set after the second set im willing to wait a bit long so i get a 50mm drop. Nik we shoudn't have to do that, they should done properly, a 50mm drop is 50mm drop! They must have messed up...

yeh jay ur right, bit silly of me to suggest sumfin like that, but what can i do. desperate times calls for desperate measures. even got my KYB shocks through last week, soo been itching to get them on with the springs. oh well..

i think the difference is because they say their springs are say 50mm shorter than standard springs measured in free length. which doesnt mean a 50mm actual drop. where as other spring companies sell their springs as the actual lowering you will get.

so basically we have been waiting all this time for a 35mm drop? If so im p*ssed!!! I WANT A 50MM DROP!!!!!! NOT 35MM!! if this is the case surely they can make a 50mm in the way we mean, not the way they mean, where the ones paying for a CUSTOM drop!! I really wish i hadn't bothered now....

i will let paynee know by this evening what the next set should be like. still up to you if you want it to be another trial or a group order. powercoil may also not want to provide another trial set.?

OMG! Taken from web-site:

If your Beemer 3 - Series has 500 kg of ice in the back and you still want a 60mm chop - We is the Main Man!
If your Nova is too soft and too high for your Babe - We can make her go down for a harder ride !!!
If your Astra rolls like a jelly when your doing donuts in Tesco’s car park - steal a mobile and phone us first

Hmm...

Want to rustle 6 sheep in the back of your 4-Trak? - We’ve got the springs
Want to radically lower your Freelander down to crumpet pulling level? - sorry we’re good, but not that good.
lmao

done some more measurments today just to be sure. will let paynee know of them so hopefully he can order them later or tomorrow. the drop should be close to 50mm. cant say it will be exact. i kind of know where it should be though.

i know what my measurements were before i changed springs. so i know how much more from the current measurements can come off when about 50mm drop will be had. front and rear measurements are slightly different. on these new springs aswell so i will rectify that.

thats ok.
i have asked for a new set. decided on same stiffness as this has been a good result ie. whiteline springs. with the extra stability of being lower they should be fine. have asked for 80mm front and 95mm rear based on what the car is like with current powercoil springs on.

everything go ok gettin the springs sent straight to you beachboy, what did powercoil say about the old springs and also how long for the next set of trial springs??

Do you not think that the fact that beachboy's car is ~150 kgs lighterthan standard will make a difference to the amount of drop?
