what did you do to your micra today ?

you mean it revs *HIGHER THAN NORMAL* when you turning the wheel
may be a early sign of something giving up

it's just the car compensating for a little lost power.
in theory you could make your cars life easier by never using any of the above...

Power steering takes power from the engine the engine will drop revs like a drill at full chat will spin fine but once you try drill something it gets slowed down, so the engine compensates for the drop in rpm by upping the revs to stop the engine from stalling :)
Every car with belt power steering does this

Also that purple colour in your pics is awesome I'd like my car that matt purple all over! What is it? Just a anti rust primer?

Had Mrs. Getaways car in the workshop today!

Changed throttle body (long overdue!)
Replaced thermostat (Also long overdue!)
&
Fitted big bore rear exhaust section (Pics to follow!)

Bought a 4-1 manifold, Walbro fuel pressure regulator, 1.3 fuel rail and injectors (courtesy of evofrenzy (Y)), heat proof exhaust wrap and hose clamps so I can wrap my manifold properly, Jap plates, some black spray paint for the inside rim of my headlights, some more stickers, and am looking at some CG13 cams. Picture update when I fit all of it next weekend :grinning:

Finally received my track rod ends but came together so didn't know which one was for lh side or drivers side does it matter? Just gota wait for the seperator now and then fit it on? Anybody want me to do a how to picture description for future problems with any1 else?

they fit either side mate

Naa mate no luck what so ever the closest ones I found to yours are the stick on ones outside the doorframe, nissan dealer was useless :/

Bought new engine oil (motul 5w40), filter, bought a helmet for the trackday next week and gave it a spanking wash :) Tomorrow oil change etc...

Wrapped my 4-1 manifold with heat proof exhaust wrap, ready for when I fit it to the car next weekend. Really is a bit of car porn (Y). Polished my 1.3 fuel rail and Walbro fuel pressure regulator, also ready for when I fit them. Bought some manifold and various exhaust gaskets, exhaust sealant, and fitted my new door trims and parcel shelf. No more working on it until next week, will be worth the wait :grinning:

Fitted my 1.3 fuel rail, only to have it spit fuel all over the engine and garage floor because the bodged welding to bypass the stock FPR is ####e. So now I need to buy an adapter so I can fit my Walbro FPR. Also fitted my Jap plates after cutting them to size, they look pretty sweet (Y). Pic update when I find my camera

Windered why i was sounding like a tractor and driving like a tractor! Hts wrong way about and on 2 cylinders! Oinked orange from inside my door and exhaust inc a banna some good damn mates i have

Tried fitting my 4-1 manifold, only to find my alternator is mounted too close to the engine and too high up, and the air-con pipes get in the way. Seems as though it'll only fit on a K11 that doesn't have air-con and a high-mount alternator. So I wasted £200 and 4 hours. So if anyone wants to buy a 4-1 manifold wrapped with heatproof exhaust wrap, I've got one up for grabs. £100, local collection only. And maybe if anyone has got a decat manifold that would fit my car, I'll take that off their hands.

Just seems to have turned into one of those days where I've ended up hating my car and wishing I never bought the ####ing thing.

the oz guys usually fit standoffs on the alternator bracket dan so that it clears the mani :)

Do you mean leaving the alternator in the same place but spacing it out and fitting a new belt? Or completely moving it, and mounting it lower? Because I might be removing the air con all together, which means I should be able to mount the alternator in the same place as the pre-facelifts

i think my phone cams a tart its not good, halford zinc primer over the kurust
primers grey'ishk

Made up a plan of how I'm going to make my 4-1 manifold fit - basically, because I have air-con, not only is the fan/rad and all the pipes in the way (making it slightly more than impossible to get the new manifold into the engine bay without undoing everything), but the alternator has to be mounted in such a way above the air-con pump that the standard manifold has a gap of about 5mm between the alternator. So now, I've got to remove everything for my air-con (up for grabs if anyone wants it (Y)), and mount my alternator below the manifold (with the same mounting bracket and belt from a pre-facelift K11 without air-con), where the air-con pump is currently mounted. Then (in theory), there should be enough space for me to mount the new manifold. Would hate for it to go to waste, since I paid £100 for it, and £30 for the exhaust wrap!

Who needs air-con anyway? Just drive with the windows down if you need cooling off

air con is over rated. You will also free up a few ponies aswell!

Yeah, I'm told I'll save a lot of weight, make some money by selling it, and get a bit more oomph at the same time. Aparently it's an easy job removing the air-con, can be done in an hour or 2. Could be interesting remounting my alternator though, I've put up a new thread asking about how I can do it (Y)

If you plan on selling it then make sure your careful when removing.

And when you come to de gas the system, try stand well clear...that stuff burns...
