Hoodedreeper's K11 RELOADED!!

Tbh i done the bonnet raisers for the look, rather than the cooling side of things, every night i get atleast 10+ people come upto me and say my bonnet is open! So i tell them if i bonnet is open it'd be open from the other end!

RS Turbos originally had them on so i got told, thats where the idea came from.I bought these off my friend who had them on his Escort,so he probs got the idea from the Ford club or something. Cost me 10 quid.

@Antony: It was seeing pictures of Your car that inspired me to have them! The Black,Silver & White stripes really gets the red off and they're not OTT. Plus...its not as if we live near each other anyway :p

lol ive been out side doing my bonnet just got 2 quite thick washers and 2 diffrent new bolts with a longer thraed, works fine...tbh ive done it because of the look, but if anyone asks its for cooling performance :p what does your bonnet rasier kit consit of?

It consisted of 2 polished blocks (not sure what they're made from) with 2 oval holes both ends (where the bolts go through) and 4 bolts. But the bolts were too small for my bonnet so bought some M8x40 and M8x70 bolts. The rear bolts are too long so need to get some M8x60 :)

Car is looking great, where did you get the 3 point harness's and how much if you dont mind me asking, ive a set of sparco recliners. They have the holes behind the head but not in the sides, wonder would the type of harness's you have still work.

Probs still work but would go over the sides rather than through the holes. They dont have a company/make/brand on them which is good cos i prefer them plain. Believe they cost me about 38quid each from a local tuning company :)

4-points just bolt down in the same places, ive bolted mine to the rear wheel arch where the rear seat belt bolted to and one to the rear floor where the buckle bolted to... before i just had my 3-point bolted at ither postion, when i had my interior in i had it on teh wheel arch as it was easier...

We had the bonnet on the turbo washered up at the back. It wasn't for cooling but because the front of the bonnet was rubbing in the oil feed pipe to the turbo. Think we used about half a dozen standard flat washers each side. We still had to remove the strenghner and smack the bonnet with a lump hammer for it to clear!!!

Heres what your eager to see:

76.2bhp @ Engine
73.3 Lbft Torque

So for a 9 year old car to loose 2.8bhp is pretty damn good IMO,guys at Clive Atthowes were impressed with the figures though it was running standard.

I only put them on for Trax and havent had time to take them off yet. I'm still in 2 minds whether or not i should keep them on. Only takes 5 mins to put them on/take off anyway :)

Next thing on my to-do list is:

Colour Code bumpers
de-bump strip
false rear floor

when i put my raisers on when i open the bonnet it rubs on the wing and scraps the paint off do you have any probably with this ?

n i personally like the raisers how big are they and do you only need 2 ?

RS Turbos originally had them on so i got told, thats where the idea came from.

Originally came from the air cooled VW scene. People used to fit longer hingebolts and spacer washers to the engine lid on the back of VW Beetles to allow extra airflow and keep things cool. A lot of jap tuners do the same thing on Evo and Skyline bonnets now for pretty much the same reasons :)

False floor is now carpetted (if thats a word? lol) Will fix to the car tomorrow and get some pics up :)

With Regards to the dial bulbs i only needed 4 but had to buy 10,but always good to keep spares cos in my Green K11 i managed to drop a couple down behind the dash....oops!

I got a replacement performance panel filter from work and the car performs alot better with that than the cone filter.I've got a cold air feed running from the bottom of the car (about a foot from the front splitter) directly to the air box.

Rear floor is now done, sorry for the crap pics i used my phone:

thanks :) Yeah thats a hinge in the middle to help attach both pieces (only thing i could really think of that made it quick and easy to remove both pieces)

The front splitter is from a Renault Laguna (about 15 quid from the Main Dealer) and the rear splitter is from a Seat Ibiza :)

Good Job on the False floor Hoods, How's the car coming along since the micra skipping across the lake incident?

Might have to do the splitter idea myself as I don't want to lower my Micra but I want to stiffer the suspension.

The Micra is back! Whoop!

False floor was completely DIY with the help from my Dad :) Took abit of time to do but results are deff worth it!

Nah i havent but i'm 85% sure the conrods are bent :(

Infact i was gonna post up a For Sale topic to see if anyone wanted anything from it i.e rocker cover etc etc

I was hoping the Air Con would have been removed (like i asked) but it got left in. No biggy, just need to work around getting a strut brace on. (I know MPH sells one that fits ;))

Where the side bit of the seat is,its wearing reaaaaaaally badly and theres a big hole starting to appear where the fabric and padding has worn away. I removed them and put my standard seats in for 'winter seats' so i can keep the buckets in decent condition for next year's shows :)

Have you got any pics of making the floor? It looks really good and I want to do that once I have tints to hide my audio etc.

Tom

lol my seat is the same, its worn through in places. doesnt bother me really tho, i want it re-trimmed all in black instead of grey and black they look so much better... bit of a pointless slightley of topic rant lol...

ermmmm...

car looks good ;)

Had her Dyno'd at Clive Atthowes again today to see what gains i've got with the panel filter and de-cat exhaust system:

Standard (previous) : 76.2bhp
NOW : 83.4bhp

Standard (previous) : 73.3ftlb
NOW : 75.9ftlb

And heres the graph comparing both dynos:
