what did you do to your micra today ?

WDIDT?
Got my new car - HURRRAY
Found out my new car had more issues that expected - BOOOOO

So from the top:
Exhaust gasket had slipped out of place when fitting the 421 - sorted now
window/drivers side, mech broken and badly welded, window off runners and a 2x4 in the door well... also by the looks of it it's been open and loose for ages and water has got well into the door. - £10er fix tomorrow at scrappy
Wheels, tinyTINY tyres on, wobbling like a bitch, even at slow speeds... 70 was literally terrifying. - swapped them over with old ones in sig. They're better but the tyres need replacing/both need balancing again...( more money i don't have )

Minor paint damage around all panels but that's to be expected.

Managed to get some parts off my old car:
Clear indicators
Parcel shelf with speakers
Discs and Pads
Seatbelt pad :)P)
Wiring loom from stereo

and of course my exhaust system swap.

What the best course of action to resolve a clogged up (sat for 6 months doing nothing) engine?
I've swapped the plugs, gonna check oil filter/fuel filter tonight and then see about the dizzy cap tomorrow.

Seems like the injectors are blocked (v-Power+redex injector cleaner X 20 quid of fuel already fixing it... hopefully)
Engine idles all right too, around 550-650 ish, always level though
car take a reasonable time to warm up too which i a good sign

Anyone got a one stop shop fix for this ****e then?
Miss the power of my old one already :(

old one worked but leaking oil loads and rattling and the sills were dead. didn't have the time/money or patience with the car anymore to warrant saving it.

... And i like a new challenge. Gonna do an oil change asap too, hopefully that'll do wonders.

oh,,,,,yeh start with throttle body complete service, including idle valve.
then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i doubt the petrol tanks dirty.

Davy, get down the scrappy and look for a facelift with a "Sport" badge. Should have rev clocks, normally only a tenner too. Best thing you can do, take yours out, check the connectors and then you'll be sure they'll fit.
Cheers bud, I'll do that sometime, my scrappy is a 60+ mile trip:(

Got it back... :( prefered the s**t astra courtesy car its slow sluggish and both the brake and clutch positions have changed why do people feel the need to mess around with things when there is no need... no more speedy get aways it feels like a 1.0 8v and sounds like garbage.

sounds like they got the cam/chain timing wrong maybe ?

Rattle canned my bonnet to black - used the dirt as a primer :)

So they've pinched parts too.
Im not sure maybe there was a slight missfire on it not that I ever noticed it. just popped to tesco with mum took millie and to see if she could feel the difference indeed she can, she also described it as jumping when you first put your foot down...
Then takes off like she used to
Could it take time for the new conditioned head to bed in? Sorry new to major engine work...

it should drive exactly the same as before tom, and they might have broken a plug lead and fitted a s/h one eh
Hmm I think it could be an inlet issue tbh because its really gutless at low revs but at 2500 it kicks in and goes like before.
Although just thinking about it I dont have my induction pipe on could that make a difference I wonder...

All well and good if they break one ht lead but at least change the whole set! Its too big for the car and sags all over the engine.

probably the inlet cam is 1 tooth out then tom ?, i would check the dizzy is refitted in the same place too (dirtmarks on the adjusting slots)

Pooly bent rally car is sad. But everybody seems to have missed the important content of this picture.

Revo 4 spokes looking awesome!! just need an extra inch of width and less suspension!

Yeah, I appreciate that that set up is to meet the regs/be functional. Would look cool on a dropped daily though - and as an alternative to all the 7x13 minilite and starmags.
