what did you do to your micra today ?

He couldn't get it on the rollers to do brake checks so he was going to do the 4x4 brake test instead (hur hur), but then he couldn't jack it up to check the wheel bearings because he couldn't get his jack under. Said he'll not put it through as a fail though, and to just rearrange the MOT. Only thing he saw was 18inches of new sill needed one side, need to borrow a backbox for MOT and need to weld one of the centre cat hanger bracket arms back on haha
Oh, and I need to raise it an inch at front so they can get their jack under, adjustable seat perch FTW

in this morning, i got pulled over by traffic officers. it was fail to display road tax but i ordered it on last sunday. everything was ok but i got fine for no doorcards ffs. am i only one person who drives without doorcards for nearly 4months. it is ridiculous so its worst thing ever i see in my life. i put my super s doorcards in my gx for temporary weeks.

updates are coming soon.

I would challenge that bud !!!!! load of crap from the old bill....yet again. I once got a ticket for parking in a flower bed (yes I did !!!) well there was nowhere else in the car park. About 3 months and 3 letters later, they rescinded the ticket on a technicality. YEAH !!!!! bollocks they never had a leg to stand on, where did it say I could not park there - no where- end of.

Looks good :) What leads are they Ade? look like the Lumenition ones I was going to get before. Have you noticed any difference with them compared to normal leads?
Cheers Sam, they're actually Megaleads  I bought a few spares cheap (of course) including a dizzy to which these were still attached :D
Can't say they've made it any better but they certainly haven't made it worse and they do look better...... :)

Ed that's bloody brilliant welding for such thin metal!
Ta mate! I think it's all about the fit-up. Make the new bit of metal fit right then weld it, gaps more than 1mm mean you blow a hole too easy. Then do lots of half second 'dot' welds which slightly overlap (on higher amps than you would expect).

tiz, i,ve never seen a sill TIG welded before :)
Nah, it's mig:) got another cheap one on Ebay. 90amp max but does car stuff fine:) I did TIG a sill a couple of years ago, they are too cruddy and you end up messing up the electrode every 2 seconds. Plus upside down TIG is hard work!!

Pretty much how we did ours except we got the joggling tool out and made the outer plate sit flush, making for an invisible repair, (we also spot welded the lower sill sections together). Not seen anone bother to replace the inner sill element though, just cut it back and slap on an outer plate.

Worked on derattling my Celebration! Adding some foam to the parcel shelf feet and I should be good. When released did they come with foam? Mines terribly loud and i'd be shocked if they didnt!

Bought some Almera alloy wheels for it. I know you'll all probably moan that they're not 13's with loads of poke, but I like them. No pic yet. Sorry.

no right to moan its your car and its different low on wide13"s with loads of poke is becoming overdone in my opinion :)

Lots over the last few days.....

Fitted the airbox, which had to be modded to fit the ga15 tb.

Got the quick shift fitted, feels stiff but when on the move it is very nice, very short throw and great fun and quicker :)

Adjusted the wishbones to get max caster, and them got the car tracked up took a couple of goes but is almost spot on now, so enough for a rally car. New poly bushed front end sticks like **** to a blanket even with umbongo tyres on :)

Bedded in the new front pads and had a play the new ga15 tb and cat replacement pipe work well and allow her to pull well even in 4th.

Then gave her a dam good wash even hoovered inside! Ready for Go Motorsport Live at Silverstone on Sunday.
