Trial fitted my alloys, thinking of lowering. Need to find some mudflaps :D

The rears have 'NISSAN' on them. My car is a pre-facelift K11. They are perfect condition and were going to the tip tomorrow! Good job you asked for some!

Wdid? Went to Santa pod for street nationals, saw 2 cars running 9 seconds or less! Street legal too as that's their club rules eh :) scary! Didn't run myself as there were lots of queues and delays but I intend to go back soon :) need to race my mates corsa, general opinion is I'd win but not by much so it has to be tried!

Going for a quieter/MOT legal setup then?

Yeah. I really cannot be bothered with worrying about my MOT.
The 421 was nice just because I had one but personally it wasn't worth my time or effort for such little gain.

I'm not keen on the loud rasp brought on by the 4-2-1 either.

And I remember rightly that my timing chain was much quieter on startup with standard mani and a cat, maybe a back pressure thing ?

Got my hacksaw ready to cut my 4 branch off next week :p

chain rattle is more than likley oil pressure at the chain tensioner or lack of if its rattling

Lack of flexible joint

Could be, it's totally rigid which is no doubt part of the reason for the pipe starting to flake away, along with a long, hard life.

Going back to standard setup with original bolts in the downpipe with the springs for a bit of "give". :)

definatley chain?

Without a doubt. Always had a noisy chain and it's slowly got worse.
But you never used to be able to hear it rattle on start up with a standard exhaust.

When I fitted the 4-2-1 it was noticeably loud inside the car, I guess resonation and as Enuo said, too rigid.

mine got worse over time might not have anything to do with exhaust might just be coincidence
