Got to check out with matt Humphrey soon.

Its not a shop with parts on the walls mate is a kia dealership with micra stuff in the warehouse. Best bet is just to look at the catalogue.

well last night i camped out at summer soltice in the micra, my mate who had a micra said the best times were in his micra and i think its the same with mine haha, cruised home as the sun was up for about 10 minutes, beaaaaaaautiful. then started at 3:30ish i took the front end off, got the bay and minilites cleaned and put back on, arch liner taken out, the plastic plate under the engine taken out, bump strips painted matte black, mesh put on bottom bumper (no teeth yet), whole front end off and back on within most the afternoon and an evening, only just finished at 10:15 hahah! the old dog stayed out with me the whole time aswell!

How did you manage to get these p

I went to my local tyre shop so they check all my tyres today. Two front tyres need to change so they gave me two good quality good year tyres. It looks like brand new tyres. It's only £40 for two. :) Oh yea, I got one evil nail on one of rear tyres so they put puncture repair for free. Do you know why? I am main regular c It looks like that skinner got them in 15inch alloys.

14x7 for mine mate. Dnt think they make em in that size any more

Thanks! I just hope the exhaust doesn't melt it

I also gave it a bit of a clean after some seagulls destroyed it outside work yesterday. The front is nice and shiny now. The same can't be said for the back as my hose wouldn't reach...

Yesterday... Spent the day running as Car 0 on the East Anglian Classic, spent most of our time 'testing' the bogey test times :) our times would have had us running top tem all day with ine fastest test time beating 911's MkII Escorts with slippers and twin 40's etc... :)

Time to tidy up today, load the rally car up with wheels and tyres to fit them tomorrow whilst the rear arb mounts are welded up.

Poppoing over to Matt H later after the GP to get him to fit my slipper diff, busy times, will be autosoloing this time next week.

Popped into B&Q and spotted this badass K10...also bigged up the club to the owner!

Day two of gearbox changing.. After changing the gearbox mounts(luckily we had a spare engine to take them off!)
Now the gear linkage is too long!
Is this a known thing to change or what? I've searched and nothing comes up really..

The old gearbox linkage is like this.....

The new gearbox linkage is at 90 degrees like this...

So the linkage won't fit correctly

Strip the old box and swap the linkages around its a bit of a hastle but if there similar inside the box you should be able to swam them out. If not cut the new linkage off and reweld the old one on.

a hole here, and cut the tabs off ?
what are you trying to achieve ? facelift car/gearbox ?

Won't go far enough for the bolt hole unfortunately!

Bought a dogbox which is a preface gearbox going on a preface car, the gearbox mounts were different and now we have found the gear linkage is different.. Rather confused that nobody else has mentioned this on here before :O

Well if all else fails you can go for it.

Widt. Nothing lol. But I did look at bigger injectors and a 4-2-1 manifold.

On another note @frank, I was reading the workshop manual and the valve clearances was showing less than a mill. Am I right in thinking I'll be needing different pistons if I put in a set of 1.3 cams?

thats cam/tappet clearance tho innit, not piston to valve clearance :)

Think your right I'll have another read of it and get back to you.

One more for you. If I advance the valve timing will I need to tweak the mapping to set the ignition as well?

I think i was reading it somewhere on here.

yeh, if you alter the exh cam timing, the spark will shift the same amount
