Hi All, New K11 Turbo

Hi everyone,
I thought i would join and come say hi to all you micra fans.
Me and my dad have just got our SR20 Turbo Micra and MOTed it ready to hit some car shows and show off our little beauty. She is a little ruff round the edges and still needs allot of work but no harm in showing progress.
The Micra started off as a 1.0l that had been bumped on the front end, no major damage just lights, bumper, wing and bonnet. We have put a Low Comp Sr20det into it running about 240bhp. here are a few pics.

I am going get a few videos and pics this weekend and will stick them up.

Sweet stuff and welcome. Not enough K11 SR20's around for my liking, they're all over the place in Taiwan, so great to see one on here......real JAE material! Some of us here are still stuck on the CG series engines for one reason or another, call it an engineering challenge or madness, (same difference lol).

Keep the updates coming :D

p.s. Have you updated your V5C to declare it as a 1998cc and pay more road tax? (not that anyone ever bothers) ;)

Considering how easily possible the combination of the SR20 and the micra seems to be, it's a wonder Nissan didn't make an official one!
Then again, speed and performance wasn't really supposed to be the micra's main selling point, so maybe not.

All the same it looks like you've done a great job, keep up the good work :)

Very good indeed! Welcome to the club, get a build thread up!! Looks a good job like its always meant to be there!
What's the mods done to the sr20 what did it come from?
Wanted to do this to my K10 till the rear engine idea got stuck in my head doh!

welcome and well done for saving another poor Micra and turning it into a Mighty Micra...
240bhp... that rocks (Y)

wow clean job, how did you keep the PAS there? build blog is a must, i want to see it! what happened to the old engine too?

Thanks for the comments, it was originally a standard Almera gti engine, we then ripped it apart and put some pulsar pistons and rods In along with a fresh rebuild, heads been Polished, 2.5 inch boost piPe with Saab intercooler (works great really thin but air comes out freezing, looks standard too) we are running a primera gearbox as it has slightly longer gears.
The drive shafts are shortened Almera ones that have been drilled, pinned then welded by a company that specialises in that sorts of stuff,
It has Almera gti brakes, real easy upgrade.
The engine has been in three cars now, first the Almera, then a primera and now the micra, it has done abou 50000 miles since the rebuild and still has no issues, as for mapping it, no it doesn't get mapped, it has the Almera gti ecu and loom running extra injectors at certain intavals of boost, ie 3 psi injector 1 comes in,( this is a really cheap way of doing it and has worked for us over 50000 miles.
When I say finish I actually mean get some suspension and new bonnet and bumper, better wheels and just clean everything up.

Sorry about the babbling but you just get carried away when some1 asks.
I fancy making a pulsar powered one soon and want at least 300 bhp but on front wheels and maybe 4 wheel after

hi pal thanks for the information. you made my day cause my drive shafts are exactly as yours and i was worried what bhp it can handle.

as for pulsar engine dont bother my old almera gti engine with standard internals got 277bhp @.75 bar boost

my mate got 335bhp with just uprated H.G and arp head studs

Really good thread, loving the micra mate looks really nice, what arb did you use, the Almera 1 as I have a donor almera

You had an eg before mov, love eg's got one myself, great cars, one I've got is an eg6 what was yours,

Yeah i had a eg with a teg engine but some **** smashed in to it it was about 216bhp and 226bhp per tonne

also i used front/rear whiteline arb and im selling the front one pal

Also few of my previous car inc the 277bhp mera

Few collection of my past and current car

Yeah would like get the arb but skint with crimbo and getting the eg,
Your eg looked good mate shame. This one needs work but got plenty of good bits on it so will keep me happy. Looks nice in silver, think I'm going white with mine, always wanted one in white and got do arches anyway

Nice cars mate, got an ek3 I'm selling at the moment but it's no where near as nice as yours, really like my Hondas, had an eg6 with b18 but sold it, silly me,

How do you run the extra injector, with out extra management? I like the sound of this I'm now starting to have a change of heart about putting the engine in the boot! Was the drive shaft shortening expensive? I'm guessing you have to fit pulsar from hubs to fit the Almere splines (I'm using k10 so probably)

don't the extra injector or injectors wire into the originals via a switch/controller thing? im not that good at ecu side of things so if im wrong excuse me lol. ive just herd something about a 5th injector been wired to original injectors somewhere.

The extra injectors run completely on there own, it's a simple circuit, all you use is an adjustable pressure switch and a vw cold start valve, the valve and switch goes into the boost pipe as close to the throttle body as possible, you set the pressure switch to what psi/bar you want the fuel to come in, the amount of injectors is up to u and what stage u want them in at is also your choice, they are also wired so they all come in on full throttle.

This is really a back yard tuning option and does take some knowledge of cars so I wouldnt go and do it just cause we have, I don't want some1 saying I caused them to blow there engine.

To be fair it's really easy, ie at 2 psi injector 1 comes in, 5 psiinjector 2 comes in and at 9 psi injector 3 comes in, them full throttle all injectors come in.

Oh the reason for vw cold start valve is cause they bolt on and cope with the full pressure from the fuel pump, I made a sort fuel rail for a corrola the other day that had a pressure regulator on so you can run normal injectors, this only had 2 injectors.

So at the risk of sounding like a cowboy, that's it, simple management,

Oh yeah you can use check valves to avoid boost cut from the map sensor so undont need to change the ecu. Heeee haaaaa. Lol

I used 5th injectors on the cossies but I also used an omex stand alone to run it

I'm with you it basically acts as an uncontrolled map sensor once it senses a pressure change operates the injectors

Hi, went out to get a fly by but we moved the air flow Sensor out to be4 the turbo, had it pressure side as some 200sx boys recon you get more power and a better reading of the airflow, but I think it runs smoother and better, but anyway ended up testing it on the road and setting up the timing, so no didn't get any pics, will have to get a fly by one night in the week.

Sorry fella missed this one, using the Almera GTi loom, I need sort a wiring diagram out so I can have the micra clocks as I have the Almera ones at the moment but they don't fit very well, any1 ever done this

I was using micra interior loom spliced in to a gti one. didnt really work to well had all sorts of trouble.

im going to be using a almera loom now lol

p.s. iv pm'd you

Yeah best way, I was going do that but wasn't too sure, just swapped the lot, works fine, will have a look at my pm on a pc later using phone and won't go onto the notifications

Thanks pal... did you have to change the indicator stalks?

Yeah mate, but you have to change the the steering column or mod the plate it sits on and steering lock doesn't fit right, I had an Almera donor car and it's a straight swap, easy as!
I also have a pulsar steering wheel fitted so I couldnt use the bit that lets the wires for the airbag connect and spin, not sure what it's called, also I don't have an airbag or abs
