1.3 Cams in a 1.0

Hi Guys

I'm new on here as you can probably tell, I've had a good search but can't find a thread on this in full detail so thought I'd ask

I'm going to be putting a set of 1.3 cams in my 1.0 (once I find some)
Is it just a case of old ones out, then new ones in?
Will I need to do any other work?
Is there a guide anywhere that you would recommend for this change as it seems quite a common one.

My spanner work is alright but I'm no expert so all advice is welcome :)
P.S this is purely a project car that I'm using to learn on

Thanks for your help :)

Ah fab thanks :)
The timing is something in very mindful of....... Will be ding everything possible to make sure the new cams go in the same way as the old ones and the timing is measured exactly.
What would you do with the inlet then?

there is less chance of the chain jumping 1 tooth while fitting if you lock the other cam with a wedge and change them 1 at a time mate, and trying 1 then the other will give you some feel of the gains to be had, i personally only felt gains from the inlet cam (subject to bum-dyno guesstimates )

Its very tricky I'll warn you, got the inlet cam in without much stress but when I went to do the exhaust the chain slipped and I ended up having to retime the engine which as mentioned above is time consuming and tricky. Definitely a worth while mod though
