I sorted out a bit of surface rust on my rear arches, near the bottom on the sills, the rear of my sills had been painted black as they had a patch welded in (sunroof model) I found
some white all in one paint and im really happy but its a perfect match for the white on my car, I brushed it on and you really cant tell.
It covered up the black really well.

Finally saved up enough money to buy my new suspension for the Micra! Can't wait :D

These are the ones i bought, and i know what your thinking it's an ebay special so it's gonna be crap but i've already had them extensively tested by "Jordan27" so i know what i'm getting, although now somone's probably gonna tell me about something better and cheaper and make me regret buying these ones! :L

Those are pretty good. I don't have them personally but we did a group buy for them on the Dutch forums and so far everyone seems happy with them. For some people however it wasn't low enough so they had the springs compressed.

A busy on the Micra today :-

- Cleaned and painted (in motorsport white) the two 14" steelies, ready for a tyre fitting session tomorrow at the Rover Centre
- Packed the MGZR full of wheels and tyres for the above
- Packed away lots of stuff in the garage loft, and found a few more bits to put on ebay
- Removed over a kilo from the rear seats, which we have to run on some events :)
- Changed the oil and filter
- Repaired (Helicoil) the knackered thread on the rear bolt of the front/rear crossmember
- Usual full bolt check
- Removed the cat replacement pipe, for it to have a flexi pipe welded in tomorrow.

Well today I woke up to find my license arrived :) still aint valid till 20th but that puts the pressure on lol but glad its here now :)
Yeserday I started stripping the engine and may have found something nice but need your opinions guys :) I think the cams have already been changed  but not sure what to. They have a yellow band on exhaust which I think I read somewhere is only on 1.3's and they are stamped as 1300l sf140.

The only thing is that they look like they have been reground as the lobes are very shiny and actually have rough burred edges :/ think if I was to rub my finger along it with a little pressure it would slice it,

Is there a chance someone might have reprofilled 1.3's to be the same as the 1l cams?

If these are 1.3's then ill not be as bothered them cams I won aint arrived :p

I took some pics but its hard to get a good pic of the finish as phone batt was low so no flash, i might have another go later :)

OK, ready to be corrected but worn lobes are bad news, no? Implies something in the valve train has been grinding away at your cams; a proper regrind should leave them smooth, just a different profile. Are there any scratches on the tip of the lobe?

Failed oil filter, blocked oilways, not using assembly lube, not keeping cam followers in order can all cause worn lobes

No scratches on the lobes, at first I was supprised how smooth the surface was as I expected some wear or pitting or somat but it the contact parts looks very smooth, its just on the corners of the lobes that are rough/sharp

Just done some measuring, not very precise but reads what I want it to, have I worked it out right? I measure from centre to lobe tip and get around 24mm and to lowest point I get around 16mm. Added that gives 40mm

Haynes says that cg10 is 38.005-38.195 and cg13 is 39.880-40.070. Think im onto a winner. Also took some better photos.

The car came from Blackburn and if the same garage swapped em that did the sill welding I wouldnt be suprised if they mixed the parts up tbh lol

Alao looking at the chain it has little slack and rly clean and smooth so I think thats been changed mabey or are they just very good?

Unless the car has been abused not had regular oil changes the chains should last lifetime of the engine, but its likely if yours has had replacement cams the chains where done.

Went to the scrapyard, found a lovely SI with fogs/indicator. Wouldn't let me have it without the bumpers! Clocks were £20 though. Maybe it's just where I live but a good 70% of the cars were Pugs!

Shame, had the looms, indicator stalk and everything. He didn't believe me when I said the bumper had a huge gash in it. Nevermind, I'd only have lost money on them if I'd tried selling them on haha.

hahah, got a message from my brother saying they cant get it on the ramp at mot place, rookies. gonna have to go put standard rear springs in and raise the front as much as possible and put on my 14s, which means big rally afterwards!

Got next batch of tyres ready to be abused sorted, and got a flexi joint welded into the system to allow a bit of give, to hopefully avoid the ex mani cracking issue and even maybe make her a bit quieter.
