Well today I have bought myself a new car :D

hmmm do I let on what it is..........hehehe nah I'll make you all wait :p

Well it's a Jap import and turbo'd....

It will be ready for collection next wednesday as there sorting a few niggles out that I identified when I went up today.

At least now I can put the accident behind me, I'm back in a Jap car and the escort is going..

Why would that be silly Neil, It could have more power than your car if it wanted lolol.
 
im 25 with a clean licence and full no claims but i strugle to insure a micra! let alone a supra. yet my mrs is 23 drives a modded 1.8 focus and pays way less (still not enough of a reason for a gender swop)
 
not really neil, i drive a yaris and a micra, more than enough space in both.

i think the big car thing for families is a myth, personally
 
As long as it's got 5 doors, it should be fine. Larger cars doesnt necessarily mean safer. Anyway, i think kev's going for mad power over family with this one!
 
I'm not getting a bigger car when i have a family!!

Will be good to see what it is. Altho i think we can probably work it out from taking all the cars mentioned before he said 'one person has guessed correctly' and listing who has only said a specific car once!!!
 
Well all will be revealed next week.

I have sent off the deposit today and the rest will be paid upon collection.

I requested the front bumper to be resprayed and that was taken to a bodyshop today.

How???!! I'm only 1 year older, I have ZERO no claims bonus, and declared that I park it in the street, my premium is fully comp and allows me to drive any car 3rd party...and I pay £29 a month for the insurance on the Micra (think it was £311 if I bought a full year premium outright) which includes legal cover and a hire car should my car become disabled. That's with Bell insurance.

Something I noticed, I did a fair bit of searching around before I got my premium, but what was interesting was that if I insured just me on the car then it was about £340 pa however if I added my mum as a named driver...so even more chance of the car being in an accident due to more drivers being insured to drive it...then my premium went down by summat like 12%!! I mean my mum will never drive my car, but just adding her as a named driver dropped the premium by a lot.

Possibly, I'm not sure really....

I just want a nice car that I can enjoy for a while and not having it sitting in barwell or having lots of work done it, it's already modified with a few bits on anyway :D

I looked at insurance on a Starlet Turbo and it was £700 fully comp in my own name being 20 and with 1 year no claims, they are pretty cheap to insure.

What age is the car and how much did it cost??

same with me parked on road, mods decleared, parked on road outside work £500+ on my own £300 with my wife as a named driver (i must live in a high risk area) and yes thats with all the options and fully comp from swiftcover
 
Sorted my insurance out today and unfortunatley I'm stuck with Flux as I pay monthly and to cancel would mean a huge cancelation fee that they'll wack me with!!!! grr

So until my last payment is made in September I have an £84 increase to pay! Monthly payments have risen from £42 to £126 for the remaining 5 payments. Overall policy from £420 - £840.

So even though I'll only be insured on the new car for the remaining 5 payments and for the remaining 8 months of the policy, they make sure they'll get there full £840 out of me.

5 payments at £42 = £210
5 payments at £126 = £630
total = £840.

That to me in my opinion is just so wrong! grr

I'm sure for next year I can get it under £700, which won't be too bad as 10 monthly payments will only be around £70 and also for the full term of the policy. I may even get it cheaper.

Obviously I expected a rise in the premium, it's just the way it's done that annoys the hell out of me.

Anyway I should be getting the car tomorrow, pics will be posted when I get back
 
It best be good Kev, keeping us all on our toes! :p

And you'll forget all about the insurance once you've got the car so i wouldn't worry.
