what did you do to your micra today ?

got the boot painted but needs matching and flatting still, etch primer overspray under the paint is coming through on the line i took it too to blend it into the paint so going to just redo it to the bottom of the boot instead, should be alright eventually

not micra related but micra engine related for my sunny, got it cleaned up nicely today, highely recommend high temp paint and lacquer and MTN phat caps, had it covered in no time

Busy Saturday replaced the electromagnetic brushes and brush holder unit (NCVT) and fitted a brand new battery to Steffi Cabriolet and purchased a Almera air box for my 2003 1.4 SEA Rouge 5 lol! B-)

not very interesting but did an oil and filter change, and checked/re-gapped the spark plugs. ECP supplied the wrong filter - fortunately it was so big it was obviously the wrong one! Checked the invoice and the pn on the box is different to the one ordered so clearly their fault! Had to go to Halfords and get one from there as I'd already drained the oil out! Grrrrrrrr!

Do people ever change the g.box oil btw?

I change box oil quite frequently but my car is only ever driven to be abused :p

Probably recommended changing it every other service, circa 1/2 years, but even that is way more than most people's would do.

Yeah it's definitely worth doing the gearbox oil. Chances are it's never been done before. When i changed mine in the K11, changing gear was so much smoother :)

Due to my proactive nature yesterday I fitted a brand new electromagnetic brush holder and brushes to Steffi Cabs NCVT (auto transmission) due to the fact of not knowing what state the brushes were and when they were last checked and changed and yes they were worn nearly to the limit! When I test drove Steffi the change in her pick-up was a 100% better RESULT! :D I also changed the battery for a clean shiny brand new one. :D

Removal of some items to get to it!

Where the brushes fit into (note the two brush rub marks on the armature)

Brand new brush holder in place!

Everything back in place including a new battery in Steffi's lovely clean engine bay lol!

In the near future I will be starting a new blog detailing the on-going upgrade of Steffi Cabriolet! :)

Cheers
Andy

Just disconnect the sockets! I swap my 2 gen lights with my brothers 1gen everytime i go to mot, no cutting required

Thinking of buying another K11 I have been offered a dark blue 1.3si the lady owner needs to sell it quickly the clutch needs replacing and bodywork is a bit shabby but it would make a good base for a project! That would make how many I would own?????? lol! o_O:confused:

Greedy Andy :D

Connected the trailing arms and now axle replacement is almost complete.

Next things to do:
1 dry and paint the back plates and fit them.

2 Cut the seized bot from the panhard rod and fit it.

3 Change the break fluid, coolant, oil, oil filter and air filter.

4 wash and wax

5 MOT.

6 on the road after 3 years being parked.

I realised today why I had so much undesteer during the last couple of weeks.. Bought new in July almost slick today.. Tyres Fallken 185/60/13.. Brilliant tyre nevertheless but my Harry Hockly coilovers need something like the ns2r I think..
