January 1998 1.0 Lagoon edition. One of the last prefacelift batch produced. Good general state but was SO dirty when I get it...

It's so stock right now. Excepted nice new pioneer speakers with grill, new headlights (pain to install yesterday) and new power steering pum (400euros with installation and taxes...)
Still the original blaupunkt with a mp3 cassette recorder adapter, not flashy for stealers and practical.

Things to come:
rear spoiler
a pillar with tweeters
cup holder -I wanted the JDM dash top but since we drive on the right in France I will not fit :(
new exhaust
cig lighter installation

Cheers

Currently waiting to install :

Open grill (from Napster)
SR A Pillar (from Napster)
anti mud flaps rear weels (from Ash)
rear spoiler (from Ash)
parcel shelf for speaker (from Ash)

Get hype !

BTW: I washed the car last weekend... It rained last night... I regret that I bought a BLACK car now.
It's already dirty, like some sand from the rain on it...

Salut,
tu est francais ?
Sympa ta micra, je compte en prendre une mais en 1.3
Mais dur à trouver sur le continent !

Translation for our english friends:
"You're french?
Your micra is nice, I'm planning on buying one, but a 1.3 version.
Hard to find here in France!"

Thanks my friend :)
This is a really underestimated car here, and yes most are/were 1.0L (those pretty easy to find)
Search for the rear sticker "CYPIA" when you see a Micra, it was the french name for 1.3 GLX.

Cheers

Excellant car mate keep us all updated on future mods definatly get a set of wheels on there and remember to keep it subtle

awesome, great to see cars from other countries, and close enough to come to JAE ;)

no you should be able to turn it on by pushing the swith all the way over to the left...

left Centre Right
On Off Open door/boot

or the other way round lol

Thanks for the reply Tom, now I'm sure there's a problem ;)

Going to open this and take a look tomorrow! Lot of work to do :D

If anyone could give me tips for installing a rear super S Spoiler, thanks !

sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

for the spoiler i remember somebody saying that there are already marks for where you need you drill?

i think it.

if i find it i will let you know :)

Questions from a guy who bought his first car and don't have the manual:

Where is the oil max on the gauge? At the top of the squared gauge section?

I don't have the cable/connector for the cig lighter, if someone could explain me from where can I wire a cable, thanks guys, it will help me for this working day

Updates:
-Got some boot lights, I just discovered that there was only the bulbs on my boot, without plastic protections, remained the screws with broken plastic, went to a scrapyard and take the two from a read facelift for 3euros, washed and fitted.
-Received the french manual booklet I bought for 2euros :D
-Air filter changed
-Sparks changed
-Front and rear mudflaps from Ash' SR fitted
-Windscreen impact from last weekend trip to Mont Saint Michel (2x400km without any problem) repaired (damn combine harvester!), the guy also told me he wanted to fit my rear spoiler next week for 10euros with windscreen glue, said he liked Micra because those were super small tough cars :D

Some pics:

Mudflaps fitted:

Thanks MicraFish :)

Still hadnt the time to install the cig light, since I have to install 12v wire too, I only had an empty hole with a plug when I bought the car, without wire nor mecanism.

Next big thing should be the SR spoiler installation, since I don't have pre made holes in the boot+polyurethane glue.

Cheers peeps

Seb

Boot drilled for the SR spoiler installation!
Taking my time + LOT of brain usage before drilling = was easy and perfect from the first try.
I will put the polyurethane later in the week to stick it

Thanks to all for your tips! Will upload pics soon

Cheers

How did you know where to drill the holes? I'm dreading this part when it comes to fitting mine...

Good Job though.

Thanks mate, I'm pretty proud of my job, done with the help of my father :)

Indeed drilling is the most difficult part, you don't have right to make mistake there, and it's not practical because of the screws, very annoying.

Take your time, be calm and look well being fully above the car, in a position where you can see verticaly the roof of the car. The border of the spoiler (where the red circle is)has to be really well in line with the border of the boot, or it won't close properly.
spoilerfiit.jpg

Lay down vertically the 2 screws of the spoiler on the boot, make points with a pen to know where to drill. Ask someone help is nearly obliged to do this.
I wrote a little guide:

Thanks to the help of Glen and Naps, I mounted SR tweeters today, still on the stock blaupunkt (but with a completely different output than that
micrastereo.gif

It was this on mine:

But the color code are the same, so In the end, it results:

:D

After that I tried to put the stereo panel I bought from Mickeyandme, because it has cig lighter holder. I tried several minutes ago, but it wouldnt perfectly fit, then I compared to mine and saw that the left/right side are not exactly identitcal, and since all the dashboard is inverted since you drive on the left side, and we on the right side, it damn cant fit ! So no cig lighter yet ...

I think it's one of the last mod I will do for a time, since I've nearly done all the big things I wanted.

Sum ump:
SR spoiler
SR tweeters
SR mudflaps
-Air filter changed
-Sparks changed
-boot lights repaired
-front lights changed

Small things to do:
-exhaust installation
-change right side handle (cracked)
-install this damn cig lighter :D
-ashtray cup holder

Cheers mates

Seb

I bought it from Mickeyandme :p
Your Micra is nice too, just make a blog here on it ;)

New NGK spark plugs received from Japan::

Question: What is the black cable over the engine running between the 3rd and 4th spark plug ?

Cheers

Seb

Thanks for the reply mr Smith;
just watched couple of members engines pics, there is also this cable, but in the opposite side (different driving side)

Seb

Honestly it doesn't worth the money. My fuel consumption even rised up a little since I fitted them.
The black stock one looked a bit faded, so I asked a friend's working in Japan (In france Oscaro sold them 100euros!)

I already have so much part I bought waiting to be fitted ! Lot of work to do, but the nice weather is coming so stay tuned in my blog ;)

Yes I agree with that, a "What's new in blogs" would be useful, but in the other side I like the fact that you're free to write what you want, about some personal/weird topics.
