replacing dizzy

hey there i had to call the AA out yesterday as my lil micra decided to break down and give up the ghost, i found out my distributor is bust so im hopefully sort it tomorrow, my question to you all (if willing to help) is anything i should be aware of when changing the distributor? i mean i now about the obvious and leave the leads on the old one n change one at at time n dont try n turn the engine over but anything else really...

thanks for reading and thanks for your help in advance :)

the drive-dog on the end of the cam is offset so you cant get it wrong really neil, but i usually lift the cam cover to make sure the dog is located properly

mark the last position of the old dizzy or better yet, get/borrow a strobe light to position the dizzy's timing correctly

photo'ing or labelling the HT leads helps if ur not sure

thanks lads done it now n i gotta admid i recon the car is running sweeter then ever, i now the old one was playin up for a while but i didnt realise how much because now my micra is nippy lol, foot down in 4 n it actually moves lol.....

thanks guys
