in one other thread i have been tlin bwt fittin my rev couner well just fitted it n went to c wat it like while drivin but as a got bwt half mile from house, as i went to put foot down it started to junder and at low speed in high gear, cud only do bwt 15mph in 2nd, bt then it did then n was gettin worse n worse (cud nt stop was on country lane) n then it cut owt (either battery or oil light came on when it cut owt) and the treid to start it and it did bt very low revs n junder loads, and then cut owt and wud nt start just managed to run starter motor in gear to get to layby and got owt and smoke cuming from engine bay, wud only just strat when left for couple mins bt badly and then after bwt 15-29mins it started and ran back home fine

any ideas i would be soooo greatfull

check you haven't shorted the air mass sensor...

sounds like you've ######ed something to do with the ECU sensing the air mass or ignition timing. i wouldn't recommend driving the car until you've put the wiring back to how it was. then get a pro to fit the tacho

check the engine bay and see if you can find where the smoke came from...

something bad could have got into the engine like diesel lol

nah it is definiatly the tacho i just taken the wire (to the tacho) of the coil and it works fine, and the wiring in structions says

1. a wire to 12v supply

2. a wire to coil

3. ground wire

bt there is a spare wire and on wiring diagram at the bottom says shows a wire to the battery but it does not say to do that, and i was thinking that if i did not connect that wire wsas the tacho tacking power from the wire coming from coil so cutting power?

The spare wire will be for lights.
Sounds like you tapped into a wrong wire with the coil, my mate did this on his escort and it wouldn't start, you want the blue wire by the dizzy.

You want to splice the blue wire on the Dizzy. Id it a coilpack engine you have?

If you've not got s decent connection back with the wire on the dizzy, you may have done some damage, but also i agree with Nex about it could be the MAF sensor you've gone into.
