problems please help

so i get in the car this morning and it wont start but has been fine upto now so on the bus to work i checked out the site and found the flooding problem, so ive just got home and pulled the fuel pump fuse and turned it over and started no problem now though there is a noticeable amount of white smoke coming out the back and it pongs is this unburnt fuel or what will it sort itself out or not cos me mot is on Monday and I cant see it passing its emissions like that!!!!!
Please help me!

if its the coolant sensor it should,nt effect the emissions test (unless your test centre is only 1/2 a mile away )

i think it was flooded with petrol cos when i pulled the fuse out for the fuel pump it eventually started and now it starts alright with the fuel pump on so im just wondering if its unburnt fuel causing it and would it be the plugs that are flooded cos im not very clued up on this stuff lol

the flooding problem is usually down to the coolant temp sensor, but any excess will soon burn off

cool i was starting to worry that the engine was goosed so will i likely need to replace the coolant temp sensor?
