Where are you pork? I have a cg10 here (south coast between portsmouth and Brighton) that's ripe for cannibalising.
 
I live in thrapston but work mainly in luton

But could possibly drive :)

Might pick up some starmags tomorrow on the cheap ;)

Does rangerbob on RR still do the bolt on arches?


Also, the engine on this car is shagged, no compression

It's a cg10 auto, so will it be closed deck like the cg13 autos?

Havnt had chance to rip it apart.

If it is, I might give a low comp engine build a go with the corsa 1.4 twinport pistons and cga crank

I think I remember that being right, if not correct me :)

I've not heard bob's arches mentioned for a while, but I'm sure a quick google for the thread and PM to him would find out.

Started taking off old engine and auto box......man there's a lot of plugs!

But snug in the bay compared to the k10!

Not overly bothered about top end, it'll only be used for blasting around b-roads and maybe the odd small track lol

Had an hour free.

The wishbones were rusted to hell, but luckily had mine from the old car

So swapped those over along with hubs/brakes as mine were in better state

Popped in front coilovers too lol

Got a gear linkage from eBay, it's only got 2 mounting holes on the back, but nowhere to mouth on the front??

Got the nuts off, but bolts won't budge

The top one is the only bolt that is removable the lower is a stud :)

Try putting the rear up on stands then raise the axle so the weight is taken off the panhard
 
Panhard rod : A blow torch + mole grips + angle grinder + swearing = usually more swearing but eventually it'll come off.

Chances are the metal sleeve that's in the lower bush (maybe also the upper if you're having trouble getting it out) will have rusted itself stuck. Just carefully remove the lower one so you don't damage the threads.
 
I've got all nuts of ok, the top bolt is completely seized together.

Tried all sorts of breaker bars, mallets, colourful language

Yeah i know i had to cut and grind the bolt flush with the upper mounts and slowly prise them apart to get the rod out. I was swapping everything out though so i wasn't too fussed with how i got it out :D

I can say nearly 100% the lower sleeve with be rusted solid but once you've got the upper out you can pull off the panhard and them remove the bush and finally see wheren to start working on the metal sleeve.

Can't even remember how long it took but it was in the hours...probable took longer as it was one of the first things i started modifying and I was being gentle haha.

So no need for old stuff,

How much of it can I remove? I don't need any of the engine control stuff, but what else is connected to iy?

Fan? Other car equipment?

You can bin quite a lot mate, but I kept the fan etc in just so I could piggy back into the wiring.

I've a few wiring diagrams I can email you if that's any help?

It's got allot of stuff in it lol

Fuses,relays, ecu gauges, innovative stuff

The idea is if I ruin the car, or go back to a k10, just unbolt and bolt in new car without having to require the whole car

The cars a toy, so looks ain't a problem
