hi am new to all this micra stuff am used to ma old corsa and am thinkin bout gettin a micra sr can any1 giv me sum stats on this car and wats its like thanks people
 
0-60 in 10.5, but can easily get into 9's with a few simple bolt on mods. not a chav car! that one always does it for me. lol
 
yea i wanted sumthing diff every1 goin for corsas fiesta n that i want sumthing thats totaly diff and wats it like against other cars n any prices on a turbo for this lil bad boy

Sr is just a standard 1.3? If so wow! :) 10.5seconds seems good!?

My mates have a 1.3 hyundi accent and 1.3 fiesta think it would beat them :)?
 
the k11 1.3 will keep up nicely with the Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S, the 1.6 Saxo VTR and other "biger" cars. 1.4 twin port corsa's, 1.6 16v mk4 astras (my favorite car to show up) a standard punto turbo (yep i have done it before) and lots of others..

with a little money and time, (about £300) you can have a car that will chew up and spit out Saxo VTS's, will keep with standard RS turbo's (series 2's with 130bhp) 2.0l Cavalier SRi's, Punto HGT, any Fiesta, corsa, saxo, Nova, Punto, etc etc

all without anyone looking at you for being a chav, and in the safe knowledge that even after 15 years, and over 100,000 miles of thrashing, its still a japanese showpiece, and it will still get you home!

yes.... easily.... although the fiesta does sound a shed load better at about 6400rpm it sounds like a BTCC car...mmm
 
I'd say it would just about keep up with a standard VTS you wouldn't eat it...

I played with an RS Turbo and it absolutely flew, I was amazed!

but you had a 1.0 micra o_O

my 1.3 micra with janspeed manifold and catback exhaust, air filter and 1.0 flywheel and crank pully eats 1.6 zetec s fiestas for breakfast. i think it'd struggle with a saxo vts though as these do 0-60 in about 7.2 or there abouts

Im flabergaused (sp?) that info has shoocked me. I was thinking about getting a saxo westcoast ( similar price to a 1.3 micra) And on parkers.co.uk it had a faster 0-60 and 1mph faster or something :p? ( the westcoast is 1.4 but only 8v!!) are these figures wrong? Think it said micra 1.3 was about 11.5sec 0-60

If parkers is correct how can it keep up with a vtr :O but sounds good anyway and £300 isn't much at all to mod a car if it increases the performance! :D

parkers little book of lies. they claim a primera sri with air con is group 12 and every other primera (1.6,SRI,GT,GTLE,GTSE) are only group 9

might be more powerfull, slightly, but theres just something about the twin cam nissan engine that makes it pull alot harder than the figures suggest...

eve to the point of about an hour ago i was just pootling along in second at 20 and went into a 30-60 and i floored it, (to sixty mind you) and the guy behind me in his saxo VTR thaught i had allready installed my turbo cos of the acceleration i had from 20 in second.....o_O idiot,...lol
 
i think am defo gunna get a micra people slag thm off but there gd cause n reliable 2 cause there chain so wat mods r yay n not nay i.e boost valve chips n so on thanks guys
 
with the janspeed manifold and exhaust im very happy witht the extra power i have from my micra.....in fact i love it!!!!

My mate has an HGT and i quote.....he said "for a 1.3 thats a bl**dy quick car!!"

now VTR's are easier than VTS reason being the bhp between the two!!

now a VTS up hil will over take me!!!! how do i know cause it happend(my mate over took me :down: !!! however along a flat road....the accelaration of my micra is pretty damn good.....BUT at some point the VTS would over take....that goes for a 106 GTI.....it wil over take at some point but im in front for quite a while :laugh:

They wernt trying. Put both at the pod and you wouldnt stand a chance, even modded.

No you wont. Standard (this is proven by the MSC many times) the K11 1.3 is slower than a VTR (just) moddified it will beat it fairly convincingly, but it WOULD be walked on even lightly modded (exhast and airfilter) by a VTS.

the saxo VTS quote is very true!!!!! when my micra was standard (engine wise)....just airfilter and cold air feed....if a saxo VTR was in front i couldnt over take :doh: .....i wouldnt even attempt a VTS cause having 125-130bhp!!! and being a 1.6 there was no chance lol.

however......like i said in my post above!!! ^

a VTR now is easier....not a walk over but is easier!!!

and as it shows any higher powered car will over take me if we go at it for a while!!! howere my micra been light and powerful it works wonders in low gears against most cars but......then thats it.....fourth gear is still pulling but not enough!!!

ED......this may sound sill but i was going to email you anyway....but i remember a thread about "CAMS" and the ones you sell at Fusion motorsport and cant remember if you said your company can "FIT and drill / make the SHIMS(??) fit???.....if so how much would you charge!!!

Vts is 1.6 16v >.< Insurance would be mad :p I wanted a Vtr but i think insurance at my age (18) will be too much! :)
 
dunno my mate had his vts at 19 and his insurance was 1g fully comp
he know has a mini cooper s works cos he wrote the saxo off lol not hid fault though

the punto was trying, he even changed down to catch up, and couldn't
the RS turbo wasnt easy, but he also gave up.....

the cavalier sri was a bag of crap with blacked out everything, but still couldnt keep up.

im not lying..... realy, i have surprised people with the speed of the car...... i mean is it normal to wheelspin in 2nd gear at 20mph with 195/45/15 toyo T1r's? cos mines been doing that for a couple of days, (so i better stop before i cost myself another £170..lol)

fair enough i did generalise. but i prefer the power of my micra to that of my 1.9 309 GTI...... and that was quick.. but the micra just feels quicker. and with people allwasy asking, "what the hell have you doneto that, thats no standard micra engine) it just makes me wonder what is happening when i put my foot down....
 
with a janspeed manifold cat back exhuast and a panal filter you would be looking around 95BHP so westcoast would be an easy win.. but al this talk about beating other cars is abit silly.. unless you race at a controlled event like santapod then id take it all with a pinch of salt. in my blue micra i stayed with a proven 150BHP VTS but that had nothing to do with power it was the fact i had better tyres better suspention and better brakes and the fact it was a twisty coutry road get me v's him on a bypass and i wouldnt stand a chance..

but if you do go for the manifold ect then fill the car with subs and amps as most modified car people so these days it defeats the object of adding power..

i totally agree.
the zetec s fiestas only do 0-60 in about 10.5 secs, the same as a standard micra, so it is common sense that if you make a micra faster it'll beat one. but the saxo vtr does o-60 in 9 secs, so even with the mods listed above, you'd struggle to beat one, unless it wasn't trying. or the guy doesn't know how to drive it properly! an escort rs t does 0-60 in 8.5ish so again, wishfull thinking or a knackered engine?
 
well am not sure yet wat i want 2 do cause its a choice either a corsa sport 1.4 16v or a micra sr hmmmm ??

I also like the corsa 1.4 sport also ( although not a great fan of corsas ), think that would beat the westcoast also which i like the looks of!

Anyone got any figures on the COrsa sport 1.4?

corsa......1.4 16V Sport 3d ......88 ..112 ...10.5
micra......1.3 16V any .............75...117....10.5

so corsa has more power, same 0-60, and lower top speed and nissan engines are virtually bomb proof
i know which one i'd choose if i was looking for a smaller car
 
hmm i wounder maybe the corsa lol i think its goin 2 b the micra boost valves gd or bad on 1 of these and any1 hav any sites for parts its hard to find anything for thm and can u lower thm mre than 35 mm thats all i can find
 
yeah this is raceworx' k11 lot lower than 35mm although 35mm looksquite a lot on a micra

do a more thorough search on google or yahoo. use the keywords "micra k11 tuning parts" or something similar and im sure youl get some pages

As for finding parts, theres a few members who trade within the club and as an official member of the club, you also get some discounts of some great sites

I would direct link you but im not 100% on forum rules when it comes to links and stuff. As i said tho, do a search with those key words and im sure something will pop up

i rather have reliability and jap technology. Also them figures are when vehicles are new, them corsa 16v will have had a whole ownership of people ragging the nuts of them, you can get a 1994 1.3 micra women owner that isnt even worn in and will kick the corsa.

Also loads of people cannot even pull out book figures for 0-60 etc, i usually just see them as a rough guide rather than buying a car over them!!
