k11 gearbox oil

hi folks not posted on here in ages.

my 1.0L K11 has a leak on the gearbox drain plug and its started to whine especially in the lower gears.

Where do you refill the gearbox oil on these boxes? I've had a very quick look but cant see an obvious place to top up the oil.

Also does anybody know the part number for the drain plug?

Someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 1.3s and later 1.0s have a fill plug on the top of the box, the earlier 1.0s need to be filled through the speedo drive hole with the drive disconnected.

both of my 1993 & 1998 1.3 slx had to be refilled by the speedo cable

How much oil should you put in? do the micra boxes need filling or is it designed to run half dry?

you fill it level with the nylon cog (down the speedo hole)

well managed to sort it today, inbetween ####in snow showers and its worked a treat.

Managed to get 2.5l of oil in and it seemed full so hoping its about right. Replaced a plug washer to cure the leak and its running nice and quiet (Y)

can't believe how cheap and easy it is to keep these motors running :laugh:
