Hiya all.
Just installed an upgraded exhaust manifold, have 1.3 cams to install and a few other mods to do yet.
I need to increase the air flow into the engine with some type of mod.
I have seen cone type filters with ducting running to the front of the engine, Almera air boxes being added and even a trumpet thingy added to the throttle body as in the Ebbdude thread but really dont
Know which option to go for.

What are your experiences and recommendations??

This is a 1.6 primera air box on mine.. mine

look this up on ebay

3" 76MM CARBON FIBRE UNIVERSAL CAR AIR FILTER BLACK

  • Adds up to 5 to 10 additional horsepower
  • More intense sound under hood
  • 3" 76MM inlet.
  • 5"130mm width x 7" 180mm height
  • 150 quid on there
  • but can be found on ebay for cheaper than that, well worth getting

I can't see how it would add 8-10 hp tho as surely it would suffer from heat soak?? A cold air feed would help I suppose?

at moment i have it in place of airbox waiting on ally pipe i have orderd to move it to front of car below battery
checked it many times and it dont get hot and also acceleration seems a little more responsive since putting it on
but best thing that makes me laugh is when i put my foot down folk twist their head to see what beast of a car is coming and then they see a micra.
have parked up and folk in chavved up corsa's etc... always ask can they see what engine i have in my little micra
