Air flow, Oxy Sensor and HHO

I have run my 94 1.0lt without an air filter for a few days and it went so well! The previous filter was fairly old but not totelly clogged. It goes better with a new one.......but not as well as without one!

My question; Is the air flow choking the engine, or perhaps looking at it from another angle is it running too rich for the available air? An oversize air box and filter might give an improvement, which ones can be used? Primera Almera air boxes have only one feed pipe and no resonance pipe......why?

Has anyone moved the oxy sensor(out by 1" in the ex manifold as is often done in HHO instalations(look up hho and learn as its a whole can of worms!) to lean off the mixture, or connected it to the eco via a variable resistor. Contrary to normal tuning I know, but the engine felt so much happier and was so much more responsive at lower revs too when air-flow retrictions should not have too much effect.

Any experience with HHO esp if positive most welcome too.

Thank You

Nigel

my 1.6 resonator was bottle shaped and hidden underneath iirc nigel :)
