had a silly idea

haha without the cash its not worth thinking about although you could do it on a budget. i think a much better swap would be a sr20 or 3sgte (Y)

Will I'm thinking retro sleeper :grinning:

As for the 2.5 going to get a ford probe cheap as chips :grinning: now for somewhere to do it

haha trust me i hate working with v6's my mate has a mitsi 3000gt and the amount of times ive swore under that bonnet just doing the simplest of things  wouldn't stop me helping out tho lol. yeah you should of gone with the compo offer mate.

Never worked on a v6 a straight 6 on the other hand jesus that was a pain.... The compo offer was insulting considering I'm still suffering from my injuries

haha i hate them mate cracking engines just a nightmare to work on now i know why specialists charge a fortune lol. thats a bit #### mate i would get onto them and tell them your still not right and make them cough up. mind you they dont like paying up they love absorbing peoples cash tho b******s

Right I'm leaning more towards the 1.8 more for having Mazda on the rocker cover and I have more info on the swap

My solicitor knows I'm still not right, physio once a week :) and still take pain killers every once in a while

you wont be disappointed with the 1.8 i got into a bit of a race with one of them 1.8 v6 323's when i had my prelude and it was stuck on my bumper up to a 90mph dont forget them 323's are fairly heavy so in yours it will be pokey as hell (Y)

yeah always good to have a solicitor on side (Y)

Never driven a 323 but, 1.8 and v6?...

so assuming its a v6 ( it probably don't rev all that)
and if its a 1.8 surely there isn't all that down bottom ) ?

but i could be wrong...

I just know Golf vr6 engine's are shockingly underpowerd considering the engine size and format.

golfs vr6's are terrible lol my mate thinks there quick but oh dear  i think it just boils down to engine design ive never driven a 323 v6 either but my prelude was a quick old bird for a mildly tuned 2litre and it was heavy also so if it kept up with me it wasn't that slow lol.

The 1.8 looks to be the better option approx 140bhp standard and in a car that weighs the same as a k11

(I'll double check the specs for the 1.8)

The 1.8 L (1845 cc) K8 is among the smallest production V6 engines ever; and also the first K-series engine to be used in a Mazda car (in the Mazda MX-3). It was a DOHC 4-valve design with VRIS and a 75 mm (3.0 in) bore and 69.6 mm stroke. It produced 130 hp (97 kW) in US trim (sometimes referred to as "K8-DE"), and 135 hp (101 kW) in Japanese trim (the "K8-ZE") on introduction in 1991 and 144 hp (108 kW) and 115 ft·lbf (157 Nm) at its best.

Taken from Wikipedia

yeah 1.8's the best bet mate by the looks of that 140bhp is bad considering the ford 5.0v8 in my mates ski boat isnt much more lol its just the toque figure thats helps with v's no need to change gear every 5mins lol

Well the ideas there now I need to be able to put it into practice, just going to have to pray I can persuade my mechanic to let me use some space

so your doing it to the mazda now meaning you might not get charlie back as your sister was gnna have the mazda? karl you do confuse the hell outta me sometimes!

no, no ,no.. they arent the smae engines. the probe engine is a pile of crap. its a KL-de 160bhp rubbish.

the one to go for is the one from the mx-6 or 626GT. the KL-ZE 200bhp.
the klze has a crank and cylinder heads capable of handling 1000bhp. bullet proof engine, easy power, turbo charge with ease and will bolt up to the rx7 gearbox rather easily...

and theres the matter of the inlet and heads being designed by yamaha... awesome power, awesome revs... do it!!

and who says v6's dont rev?.... this puppy will rev to 8000rpm all day long.. and any engine with more cylinders and the same capacity will naturaly produce more torque as there is more leverage on the crank from more con rods..... a 4 cylinder has 90deg "push" from each cylinder 4 times each revolution, making 360deg. a v6 has a power stroke every 60deg. and 6 times a revolution.... more torque.... smoother engine, higher revs... more POWER!!!

the reason behind the k8 is it will slot into my engine bay without any fuss (Y)

Will... my sister will be having Celina's Yaris and I'll be having Charlie so win win (Y)

I knew that :wasntme:

It'll be easier using a mx3 as a parts car cause practally everything on it is interchangeable with my car

The thing is I know that the k8 hasn't got the same bang as the kl-de/ze but for initial cost of getting it done, it's win win and if I do want more power all I have to do is swap engines. I'd much rather get it done and running before I think about getting even more out of it...

Think of it like this

K8 = 140bhp (approx)
My poxy 1.3 (whatever it is) 50bhp (approx)

Simple really
