clutch decision vote!

which 1 would u lot recommend for a nissan micra k11 1.3lx

blueprint clutch or an luk clutch there is only a few quid difference but is there any difference in them too? also any others u would recommend for max 55 quid tops.

I can't speak from personal experience, but the person who had my rally micra befor me used it for road rally's. He is non to gentle with cars and gotr though several clutches and always said that as far as he was concerned Nissan's clutches were best value for money!

Ive been told by quite a few of the older guys i work for that i should always plump for blueprint parts, apparently theyre high quality aftermarket parts company, they sort of specialise in direct replacement parts for japanese motors, so far everything ive bought for mine has been blueprint and its all been good quality, i dont know how the prices compare though as i usually get parts at trade price, think i was quoted £30 all inc for the whole clutch kit

i can get the blueprint at the same price so just want to know the wich 1 would last longer and be more reliable really but seems luk is popular but i can get the blueprint for kind of same price.

yes i believe it to be true, well i can sort of confirm it, my micra when i changed the clutch had a genuin nissan clutch in it that was branded luk, i.e. had both nissan and luk stamped on it, and also my dads 2001 ford transit has a ford branded luk clutch in it,.

Yeah its very true, LUK do supply the majority of European car manufacturers. Not sure about in Japland but Blueprint parts are normaly developed along side OEM parts, and in some cases better quality.

blue print parts are re-packaged parts whereas luk are bespoke and tested parts as fitted to 90% of the eu factory fitments.
Luk clutches come witha lifetime warenty on failure and in over 10,000,000 units sold, not one has ever failed.

like i said earlier... blue print simply use a sachs plate and parts from elswhere to meet a budget (theyre not bad parts mind) but not as good as luk

Antony is that true for all blueprint parts? Or mainly just the clutches? Ive had a quote for the clutch on mine but i cant remember if it was blueprint or not. I was surprised at the price though, £30 for the micra clutch kit but my bag of w*nk metro cost me £70! Good old rover eh

Yeah its true for the clutches and probably a lot of there parts. But the companies that make the parts speacilaise in what they do.
Also with the LUK life warranty, I've sent back failed clutches. Normaly the bearings that fail (rarely happens).
Its pointless putting warranties on parts like clutches, not really a part that can where the manufacturer can't pass blame on to the customer or mechanic.
