Advice please!! New car, joining the dark side!

After a bit of advice, as the title says. I'm looking for a new car so would like some advice on where to look and what to look at. Am monitoring ebay and autotrader, anyone know any other good sites?

The car must be diesel :upside: (hence the dark side!!!) for my new project and must be under £1000 as I'm skint :grinning: and should be easy to work on. Apart from that I'm open to suggestions. Current thought is a MK3 Golf any feedback on that would also be helpful! Don't ask much I know, anything would be appreciated.

Skoda Felica diesels seem to be going very cheap at the min, vw engine and build quality for less£££

Cheers for suggestions guys! Anyone got more? Tommo, like the sites, cheers for pointing them out. Mat, like the way you're thinking, Skodas seem to be holding their price tho, or maybe everything else is cheaper around here!
