how low

can go as low as you want. if you're going further than 60-70mm you'll probably need an engine lift as well. this is because the driveshafts have been designed to be a certain length horizontally, despite being on an angle. if you lower the car, you put stress on the shafts, which can lead to knocking in the corners as the splines jump, or snapping of driveshafts. a mate had a mk4 golf 110mm low. did nothing about it. he's a stupid bas**** and just kept fixing the problem thinking it was a standard problem with the car. he spent over £1200 on 9 sets of driveshafts!

Lol - you's think he'd of reached a point where he thought 'Hmmm... something funny going on here!'.

Lower than that by about 10mm.

I report zero drive shaft problems from my k10 the lower ARM mounts are 50mm from the ground but it was 25mm lower than that for a while. I raised it cose the ebay coilies are wack and too bouncy :(

chopping DIY

Are there precise ways on chopping the springs yourself? And also, can you make them a bit stiffer, all DIY of course..e.g. not buying parts or w/e ... i also read about "compressing springs" some form of contracting the springs and then heat them so they "shrink" ... would that make them shorter and stiffer too?

Don't heat the springs. Cut a little bit at a time untill you are happy with the height, and ride. It'll get stiffer and bouncier the shorter the springs get.

still waiting on these wheels my brother getting his new ones this week end so should had it done ISH next week
