hey all :) im a Lover on the nissan micra not matter what people say about them. im a 19 year old apprentice mechanic so all the work thts done to my car is done by me .. and through ALOT of saving ¬¬ as i dnt get payed much and insurace is a killer !!

As with any young guy .. i have the modification bug .. and it bite hard ! Ha befor me 1.3 i use to have a K reg 1L witch i loved !
This is where the micra modifying bug bite me :p

Then one day i found this little 1.3 for sale n just had to have it.
this is my car the day i brought her cost just over £1200 to buy and then abbout the same again for insureace !!

This is Where Project 1.3 begins :) i hope you all enjoy it as much as i do :)

the plan :

lowering spring
brembo gorved disks
goodrich brake lines
polly bushes
wheels
tyres

Adjustable fuel pressure reg
advanced timing
magnecor 8.5mm race ht's
iridium sparks
K&N filter with air duck
Cat back exhaust
4-2-1 mani .. MABY
Lightened flywheel

Bucket seats
n stip inside
 
ive all ready done a fair bit to it just never made the blog lol so im re tracing my steps xD basicly get as much power and fun out of the little thing as i can afford/manage :) n yeah barker i was reading yours earlyer :p lol n cheers she is pretty tidy only done 54k when i got her as well :p
 
First thing i did to my little micra was black the Rear windows and put my 15" Wolfrace wheels on :p

shortly after this i had some parts off my old K11 to fit to my new one
my noise maker ;) the 3" sportex back box and an induction kit .... (witch i have now replayced as ull see soon )

they went on the car looking n sounding pretty dam Awsome i have to say
but apart from the noise there was no gain .. in fact i lost power as you all no by the induction kit making it run week. but i had my fun turning heads for a few months :p its pretty good watching people looking around for your car ha !!
 
seeming as the induction kit made me lose power ... god did my top speed drop !! i replaced it with a K&N panel filter

with the standered air box :) lost the induction noise :( ! but gained back my power :p !!

id very much like todo tht been plannign on it since day one haha but just havnt got round too it yet, do you no if prefacelift and facelift flywheels are the same ?? and is 1L and 1.3 are the same ?? id porbs buy a second had one off ebay lighten it then fit it .. as i can have my car stcuk on a ramp at work =/

the preface 1.0 is different mate, and the facelift to coilpack 1.0 fits the same as the 1.3,s but is a few kg,s lighter
 
well at this point the car was good :) i was happy with her but had started looking into this ignition system id hurd on here to advance the timming and i decided to up grade my spark plugs and HT leads while i was at it .. this took some saving as the ht leads ..well there not exactly cheep ¬¬" oh well ha

with this in place the little 1.3 was starting to take shape and become the little pocket rocket i wanted !!

was looking good apart from the rocker cover =/ didnt like how the alloy had oxidised. so i had plans ;)
 
it was time to get the engine bay looking good, so it was out with the paint ;)

This was a good time to check for any wear n tear on the cams and chain .. but all in good nick :p thnk god !

looks alot better now .. and yes i no these pics where taken when i had the cone filter on i was going to a car show at the time so thought id make it look flash >.<
 
always makes me smile to see those words wrote on a rocker cover :D. maybe a nismo oil cap next to make it look even more spanky?
 
after this it was time to Re new my brakes and as i had plans to upgrade i went on ebay to see what goodies i could find for the micra with out converting to primira brakes. (although this may be done at a later date im not to sure yet )

Ended up with this lovely lot :) Brembo Max discs and goodrich bradied lines :p !!

I actually really like the original wheels on your car,& when it's a bit lower they will look even better.what make & size tyres are they?
Love the colour of the car too,considered painting mine the similar Subaru "rally blue" as I've got a litre hanging around from an unfinished project..

if i rember rightly there 165/60R14 and some nexens or summing cheep like tht i think lol yeah blue isnt realy my fav colour but its starting to grow on me since ive had this car think it looks pretty nice now :p you got a pic of ur micra ?? i mean if u got the skills n the pain go for it mate should be pretty sweet ! and im considering the original wheels its just i love the amout of grip i get from my 15" .. lol xD
 
thought id de grill the micra :p as one i dont like chrome lol pluss makes it look bad ass ;) xD haha and while im at it black out my headlights :p to complete the look

Blacking out the headlights was a nice simple little project splitting the glass from the back

then painted the backing satin black :p

by this time i thought the micra could do with going on a diet ;) and as a mate of mine had a lovly set of cobra recliners for sale at the BARGIN ! proce of £100 :p !! i snapped um straight up, and set about making them fit.

i took the rail off the original micra seats and set out to custom it to fit the buckets. it wasnt tht bad if im honest the front two bolt hole lined up perfectly with the frame of the buckets and the rear i welded a little bit of plate on to it and the seat to soil mount it tht way :)

and now ive started to stip the car more the rear seat is out the spair wheel and jack are out abit more todo but save tht for whn the weathers abit better !!
 
Making quick progress matye! I still dont like the rims but the rest is looking lovely, im just glad you havent plastered it with neons yet haha.

And yes that exhaust will fit as far as i know :)
 
exhaust system should be ariving tomorro :p so will be fitting it at work this weekend :D n lol well for now the rims are staying i dont wanna spend out on somthing tht expensive tht i dont realy need lol. and as for neons ... F**k tht !!
 
let me know how fitting it goes mate im going to order one now i reckon!

i normally hate cars the have mods like exhaust etc before thev've lowered it but im waiting for some coilies to pop up and want some noise :)

the car is lowered mate just havnt got round to posting tht part yet lol and yeah will do mate gunna fit it at work on sat :) looks like a good quality affordable peace of kit

Does each section literally just slide over the other? No doubt my bolts are going to be rusted to the high heavens and ill end up snapping them all off!
 
Wow mine came today already thats quick delivery. Paints seems a bit thin as its rather scratched, just came with the ends and middle wrapped in bubble wrap and tape. Can't complain at the price though!

Tried piecing it together in my living room but the sections dont seem to want to slide over each other very easily. Going to try fit it this weekend with 0 mechanical knowledge :)

tht how mine was the middle pipe wouldnt fit togeather .. its the paint it u file the edge of the pipe ur putting in ever so slightly it will just go in then as u push the pipe on wiggle it up and dow it will remove some of the paint and streach the pipe a little :)

one thing you will want its a fitting kit for the down pipe two bolts and some springs it is you should renew them :) as for getting rusted bolts out if u can get hold of a hand held gas bottle and heat them up just heat where the thread gos tho DONT heat the bolt or you will never get it out lol then just put a bar on it and crack it undone :)

It doesnt look like the paint really, looks at though one side of the tube has a sort of flat spot meaning its not perfectly circular so the other piece wont fit inside. Once ive got it imside the other one should i use ome of those like metal tie wraps with the screw to make them tighter? Completely forgot the name of them!

Also where can i pick up one of these fitting kits with the springs and screws?

Exhaust clamps to join the pipes together,2 inch/54mm I expect & the bolts & springs kit.Look for your local motor factors Euro car parts type place.& a bit of exhaust paste/gun gum for the joints.Shame they don't fish you in for the a fixing kit when you order the exhaust!

if u have a flat spot the best way to cure tht it to get a ballpain hammer n just tap it out about all u can do realy and yeah u want two 48mm clamps and some exhaust paste just to make sure it does seal and the fitting kits like sleeper_ss said euro car parts or unipart some where like tht
