Where did you get the Insane badge from? I want one so badly, but got less than no money at the moment :(. Was it custom made or something?

oooooooooooooooh can i have the insane badge pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee how much?? think it rather suits me :p lol

i may have slipped in a prior pm :wasntme:

Damn it Frank . I can't afford to get anything for my car at the moment, due to a lack of employment. Just trying to find out the best place to get bits like this from for when I can actually afford it

For the panhard rod, what does 'without metal insert on drivers side' mean. Would I need to fix this or something?

Its the insert that sits inside the yellow bush. They tend to seize on car and its obviously happened on this one. People need to use copper grease!

I find Ky jelly stops my insert getting stuck in the bush
:D

Wee your right only one, there used to be hundreds must have shut down the china manufacturing plant lol

On the thread :grinning:
Stani, could you, please, let me know about the price incl p&p for the super s bumper? A friend from Bulgaria has asked me to find one for him... And is it hard to get the fogs for this bumper?

Wheels are about £50 for delivery, pm me an offer

Pepo you want a price to bulgaria? Or ireland?? Fogs wont fit the bumper as there are no mounting brackets

The delivery would be actually to UK. A friend of mine lives there and I could ask him to send it via Bulgarian courier(they charge a pound per kilo or something... Very reasonable.
So if he decides to go for the bumper, he needs to find fogs with brackets, is that right?
I'll let you know as soon as he gets back to me.

Tha

OK, PM me how much you'd want for it and I'd say by Fri I'll know if he wants it or no. Thanks again(Y)

Hi, Stani
I spoke to the lad from Bulgaria. He's going to look for the one with the fogs. So, no need to send/check prices and etc.

Thanks anyway and good luck with the sale!

It was £20 for delivery if he changes his mind :) bumper comes with correct brackets that bolt onto the front panel too

Thanks mate, that is a no no for me - cut springs. Unnecessary risk and reduces performance of springs by cutting them. Thanks anyway.

have you not seen a spring making machine FH ? they load a big reel of spring steel onto the machine and it forms the spring, then when it reaches the required length the machine automatically cuts it off  , then it starts another spring

I must say Frank, I myself had never looked at it like that before fwn

If I can run the insane badge design up in Coreldraw, it wouldn't cost the earth to get a local place with a laser CAD cutter to run a load up surely from a sheet of stainless plate?

Ok Frank, can you provide me a link so my heart is at rest so that i can buy them?

car springs are probably hot rolled from set length rods, partly because of their size, but the springs in your seatbelt and other safety devices will have been spun from a reel of wire (youtube ?)

yeh, they,re hot rolling them from a set length rod (like i said :grinning:)

Ok, but still from the video it is modified in some way, i.e. it is not just simply cut from a longer length of rod, it is formed, coiled, probably set to correct tension etc, so i doubt suspension springs cut by anyone after they are formed is the same strength as one that is un-cut and to it's original drop rating.

the other processes in that vid is where it "barrels" the ends eh
incidently, i changed my boss,s rear springs on his BM estate today because one of them was broken, and going by the rust on the break it had been broken for months (broken car springs are replaced every day eh)

My mum had this same problem on her BMW Z4 - took it in to get discs and pads all round, only to find the springs on all the struts where snapped in half. And, same as with your bosses car, the rust showed that they had been broken for a while. No wonder the ride was so ####e, along with 21" alloys with low profile tyres . That was an expensive day :glare:
