Cheers for the comments guys..!.. gonna be a mean little thing!

K11 Stew: Im contemplating giving your bodyshop a ring in a month or so.. as theyre obviously capibly of a 'magazine feature' worthy finish!!..

HEY! My turbo Elbow arrived today!.. WOO!

Another Toy for my Toy arrived today!

a ''D1 Spec Quick Release''

dsc00007fq8.jpg

Stunningly crafted!

For those who dont know its a quick release system for your steering wheel boss.. (So an aftermarket steering boss is required..). This means at the press of a button and a slide of a sprung collar you can walk away from your car with your steering wheel..

This is as serious a deterrant from attempted theft as it gets!!

Easily pays for itself in the reduction to your insurence premium...

Mine is from malasia and cost me around 40quid delivered...It comes with bolts and instructions etc.. Is also campatible with your horn or other steering wheel mounted switch..

yeah... their great ;)

Spike also takes full credit for the find... as Kristian saw it on his car! mwahaha... I did somthing useful for once!

Well another small update..

dsc00023yx4.jpg

Ive started taking front end apart in order to have lots of room to manovre the engine...

Its such a shame to have the thing all built up and running and moving to only take the whole thing apart again..

Having weighed it all up and deliberated over the best course of action to take im convinced that all the mounts need changing and that the drivshafts are wrong...

Im not saying the shafts are wrongly made but they have been made to THESE mounts and so the measurements are slightly out..

There IS a position that the engine can sit in and the shafts will line up well, Its just wether the engine will fit in this position in the engine bay.. and not foul with anything..

Ideally the engine would have been better to sit 2'' to the nearside and 100% straight.. I could move the engine into this ideal position but the shafts would be the wrong sizes... In order to save the shafts and position the engine better im having to come to a nice medium.. and today im happy with being able to do that...

Just...

( I hope this makes sence to some of you lol! )

On a lighter note, Ive started on my brake upgrade as Ive previously posted..

This things gonna stop a lot quicker than its gonna accellerate and thats saying something!!

GTIR front calipers with new pads and grooved discs
Micra ABS rear calipers with new pads and grooved discs..

IF I posted a pic of these in their new LIVERY you would have an Insight on the color scheme on the car which im keeping a secret for as long as poss lol!

..Also the interior is close to completion. Going to start on the DIALS pod this week and some carbon fibre panels on the dash to mount some important switches... Oh... and I need a fancy gearknob..

Wey sum good news..!

My Been to my local nissan scrappies today with my Primer GT Radiator that is too big for the micra and spent about an hour looking at dozens of RADs trying to get one that will suit my set-up better...

Thanks the a Nissan VANETTE! I think ive got somthing just about right.. Its MUCH deeper than the Primera rad yet is shorter in height and length..

The hose inlet/outlets are in the right place and the right bore... Gonna try and build up the whole front end now this weekend after the mounts are finished..!

^^Anybody guessed the package?^^

SEXI BRAKES:

dsc00043uh4.jpg

GTIR/Pulsar Front calipers with refurb in blue and white... Got some new pads but might upgrade to ''green/red stuff'' etc..

Anyone recommend some or will what ive got be more than enough in a less than standard weight car.. Im thinking some RED Stuff pads for the track....

bricks!!! thats whats in the package ;)

t28?

Rear lights in the package mate..! he he..

have you used them?

Im just going to use my standard pads until the car is 100% and getting some track action in... then will upgrade if neccesary.. obviously much sooner if there is a big probem early on..

i like the gti brakes :) they look just like mine except they are blue instead of red :)

i am running vented disks with these calipers... what disks are you going for?
don't suppose you know where i can get some vented, grooved, drilled ones?

Brand new GTIR vented disks... was buying some grooved ones but they fell through.. Will be picking some up though..

try GTIR forums or EBAY

yeah im running greenstuff on my micra. especially when i do lots of motorway driving. but on the track they would be good coz they dont fade and i better red stuff wud be better. however like i said theyre really really bad when cold

try rally nuts for the micra - gtir stuff....

ive got rally nuts groved drilled and vented disks and Black Diamond Predator pads.

but i would like to ask.....if i can..... where did you get your calipers re-conned...how much was it and do you know of anywhere i can get the dust seals and mounting bolts from? (and the anti squeel clips?) thank you

ant

The calipers came refurbed in perfect working order, They were advertised as such and the reason I purchased them..

However Before I painted them I completly dismantled them and rebuilt them with all new grease.. This was also to double check the condition..

The calipers also came with the clips and mounting bolts...

Id try one of the GTIR club forums.. post a 'help' thread about them..

....and if you get any info, Re-post it on here...!

I'm running Mintex M1144 and am very pleased with the performance. Had Greenstuff before and would never by EBC again!

they will look the mutts nutts....my alloys are matt black though on a red car i thaught red had been done to death so i thaught about white...and did a mock up on the good old mgi photoswuit...and it looks the bizz

kris, would you be interested in a gas flowed 2.5" turbo elbow for a t25?

apparently helps bring the turbo in about 400-500 rpm further down.

i think it just increases flow, and spools the turbo up a little quicker, im not performance orientated so ed or someone will tell you better!

i can get a pic up later probs.

It most possibily would help with spool time, but you would have to compare the angle of the elbox first before you could use it.

It may end up hitting either the block or the radiator...LOL!

Met K11Stew today.. really nice guy.. cheers for picking up the exhaust buddy!

Im over the moon now.. Ive managed to remove all the mounts and replace them today.

The engine was in slightly the wrong place and this meant that one driveshaft was slightly out..

So in order to save the very expensive custom shafts, ive had to remove all the mounts and re jiggle the engine into the correct position and Fabricate up the new mounts.. The drivers side mount has been moved about 40mm back and the Passenger side is about 10mm forward...

finished today with the help of a few mates to man the engine crane.... The new mounts are much more substantial than the old ones..

Ive got a little more to do tomorrow then its time to rebuild the whole front end again and test fit my new Rad..

So the rest of my time off over the next few days can be spent fitting lights and brakes and testing electrics...

Starting to see some progress again today which keeps me positive.. and really want to hear my new 3'' cat back so Gotta hurry! ha ha

You seem to have alot of time for your car, i wish i did!! i work in a factory and i rarely am allowed time off. What job do you do maybe i should change careers ha ha ha

Put a video up of the sound!!:alien:

nice meeting you mate.

eventhough you are crap at giving directions lol!

glad to hear you did what you planned after i left.

youre ideas are preety cool too dude, keep it up.

Whey.. more stuff has arrived...

225-40-14!!!!! TOYO PROXIES 82 V

( making them safe for upto 149mph and a weight bearing of just under half a tonne per corner..- somehow I dont think im gonna be over that ! )

Thats a NINE inch tire on a 14'' rim, making it smaller that a Steelie but with 9'' of tread on the tarmac!.. THESE ARE WIDE!!!

I picked up these for only 29pounds delivered for each!.. BRAND NEW...

Im over the moon!!

This will give me more of a chance on the drag strip and also help eliminate understeer etc..

The main problem, I think, being grip on the road..

..I thought Id post a pic of the new exhaust componants too..

dscn3934il0.jpg

dscn3935xk7.jpg

To save dramatically on cost ive decided to build a full system from pieces.. This is T304 stainless and 3''... Its very light and the bends as you can see in the ^pictures^ are perfectly engineered..

You can lose a lot of potential power when your exhaust is press bent and the Bore varies in size.. This restricts and disrupts the smooth flow of gasses... Mandrel bent exhausts are bent in such a way that the bore, or inside size, remains the same all the way through, being consistant and much smoother it helps with the flow of gasses and therefore performance..

Ive got with a full 3'' system as I dont want to have to replace it when I go turbo shortly after the MOT..

Ive ordered a Blitz Fireball backbox with full 3'' inlet-through but it still hasn't arrived from america yet!! GRR!!

Im going with the standard exhaust exit for the time being.. albeit with a much bigger rear silencer.. Cant wait to hear it on!!..

Out of interest why did you go for the Proxes T1-S instead of the T1-R? Were they much cheaper?

Nice to see how well the project's coming along btw :)

That's bad on Toyo's part IMO, the T1-R is supposed to replace the T1-S, but if the price is that big a gap between the two then they're shooting themselves in the foot... Okay enough of the management speak now lol.

Can't wait to see this finished :D

Tires were a clearance from a dealer on ebay.. he said he had loads of rare sized tires lying around for months and wanted RID..he he..

I wont get any more for that price ha ha..Still im looking at 50 each from now on which is still Seriously cheap!!

Onto painting the alloys now.!.. he he...

i have redstuf pads and 3G vented brake discs the discs are great but the pads are crap they take ages to warm up greenstuff just cook.. im going to change to mintex pads when hte red stuff ones wear down.. having said that if you catch them whent here warmed up to correct temp and you need to stop theyll stand the car on its nose..

Mintex M1144 all round works really well, I had stock pads on the rear as that was the only option at the time. Now that Mintex do M1144 and M1155 grades for rear discs it helps balance the car much better and adds to stopping power a little more :) There's also an option for BD Predators for the rear also.

yer, im goiong to upgrade to predator drilled and/or grooved rear discs in addition to the groved front GTIR ones..

Another delivery today!...

Specifically ordered this one from america as amonst other properties its got a full 3'' Inlet Through..

Its a work of art!.. look at the welds.!

Very light too!

dscn3936yw0.jpg

dscn3939hj7.jpg

and some switches ive ordered have arrived too..! Heres the engine start...

dscn3940si0.jpg

Im getting up to the final fitment of the electrics this coming weekend..

Wey Hey!..

My Bonnet pins .. have arrived..

They are Constructed from Aluminium bar the retaining pins and nuts.. so are very light.. and Ideal for the Bonnet and boot..

dscn3947zn0.jpg

Also my HKS Turbo Downpipe ( was sold as HKS although I dont actually know for certain ) has arrived and is in perfect condition.. just needs a clean... oh.. and cutting up and shortening to suit the micra chassis..

Ed you work on GTIRs dont you? Could you send em an image of a HKS downpipe so I can compare it against mine. Ive looked but cant sem to find a decent image of one.. cheers.

Its not that long in term of work.. its just getting some spare time to get round to it.. I could be doing a load today, infact I was planning too but was way to hammered last night ha ha!

Id say Ive put about 2 weeks into it and it needs another week...
