Removing side strips

I've got a 1999 T Reg 1.3 Si, with the kind of swoosh side strips. They're colour coded to the car so don't stick out like the black plastic ones, but I still would like to remove them to have cleaner lines...

What's involved, will I need to repaint anything at all? (not keen as it's a metallic colour!)

Nope no repainting, just heat and pull them off, then plenty of petrol/tcut/furniture polish etc and a plastic scraper/credit card to get rid of the gunk left behind. Or use an eraser/toffee wheel on a drill.

as long as your panels have had no paint repairs, yes no probs pavel

ah yer forgot to mention that at my super s had had a dodgy panel repair and i took the paint off when i went over it with my eraser wheel.

Yeah they definitely haven't had any repairs... Which is probably not ideal, as there's lots of scuffs etc. on the door. That's one of the reasons I wanted to remove the strips, since I have to go over the whole door with a good dose of T-Cut!
