i'd suggest making this support bracket which will hang the geabox over its centre of grav so it stays level whenever you slot it in/out of the engine

place a block of wood between the sump & central beam to stop the engine dropping down,
driveshafts, selector rod & plugs disconnected,
crane up the gearbox with the bracket slightly till the crane just about supports the gearbox weight,
unbolt the rear mount, gearbox mount,
lower the engine & box till it just rests on the wooden block,
unbolt gearbox from engine,
slide/shake gearbox away from engine,
lower onto floor[/LEFT]

To be honest mate the best way is to just tackle it your self.

Take you time, look at what you have to remove to get it out and take your time. As pollyp said there are only really a few steps to removing the box.

I learnt all i know by just going for it. I can now do engine changes on the drive way.

Where are you? Im sure someone will lend a hand if you are local.
