Rattle noise

Hi,

A very loud rattle noise has appeard from my car. It's not there when you actually drive or rev the engine. It's mostly noticeble when the car is idling or reving just a little bit. It seems to come from roughtly from the centre of the car towards the front.

And ideas what it could be?

either timing chains,

manifold heatshield,

centre section heatshield.

maybe?

Sounds like the heatshield. Mine had it too, just take it off.

it was the heat shield. My local Nissan garage has ordered 3 new brackets/clamps to fix it. £30 total cost.

you can just rip them off. Done it to 2 of my K11s and im about to do it to a 3rd
