Funny high pitched rattle noise

I bought a 1999 Micra 1.0 16v Auto last week. Its got 131000 on the clock and now that I've driven it a bit I've noticed an annoying noise.

When its hot there's a high pitched rattle that seems to happen at about 1500 revs on acceleration and braking. Doesn't sound like exhaust rattle. As it only happens at that rev point its obviously intermittent when driving.

Any ideas from anyone...? Anything to worry about?

It'll most likely be the exhaust heat shields. The bolt holes rust away. Most ppl remove them. Its of no detriment to the running of the car not having them.
