PROBLEM! Major or not??

Well i just went out driving and car stalled whilst i was doing 60mph down a dual carridge way. Was in fourth gear and foot was off the clutch completely! Then i slowly rolled along to a hault with hazards on. I then started it up and started to make my way home as something was obviously wrong!

Then on way back, the car kept jumping when i changed gear. I know i have got to replace my clutch cable (which should have been here but royal mail on strike!) so this is most probably the main cause of the stall. But it was also rev'ing very low when i got home and parked, low enough that it stalled whilst i was reversing into my spot. And i started it up again and it was rev'ing low and wouldnt pick up the revs like usual.

Plus ive got a slight rattling/tapping coming from under the hood.


ANY help with this would be much appreciated!!

might just be the points, my k10 needed them adjusting quite regular!

Definitly sounds like the Dizzy. Replace it if you have electronic ignition, otherwise just change the points

he wont have points as its a facelift, i suspect the IC control chip has gone and is making the car cut out when its up to temp... mine did this once
