When making an open mouth grill, when it comes to paint. is lacquer needed?
according to the kid at Halfords i dont need it but if i dont lacquer it up the paint will fade and chip easy wont it?

lacquer is needed as it protects your base coat. it will stop it from chipping slightly as it has more protection. thats why people use about 6coats of lacquer and base coats on cam covers etc. lacquer also makes your paint shiny.

some paints, mainly non metallic paints don't need laquer as it's mixed in with the colour. so no, you shouldn't really need it, but if it looks like it's not shiney enough, it wont hurt to spray a bit on.
