Hi there,

My O2 sensor needs replacing (as detected by a Nissan garage when the malfunction indicator light came on). What happens if I don't replace it?

Cheers,
Al

Hi Alan, your car will still run without it but the engine management system will run in "default mode". This means that your car will not be as fuel efficient or develop as much horsepower as it's normally capable of.

Thanks, guys. Going to look into getting it replaced - Nissan dealer wants to charge £207 (inc labour, parts and VAT). Got another dude looking at the car tomorrow, he's not sure how many components he'll need to replace - is it one or two? (car is a 2001 1L S model).

Cheers,
Al
