Noisy first motion shaft bearing.

My 80k miles Micra 1.0 has a noisy bearing at idle, I suspect it's the first motion shaft.

Do I need any special tools for this job?. I'm quite capable of removing and dismantling a gearbox, just never done one of these before.

you split the casings and remove the cluster i guess roger, pollyp did a strip and build in his blog iirc, and the pre-face 1.0 has a smaller g/box eh
