Need Some help ignition problem

HI guys i could really do with some help my sisters car well to begin
last week it wouldnt start so with her friend they towed it to a garage who said it was the ignition switch . After chnging it worked for about three days and then nothing so after she begged me i took it to bits and it now starts fine the problem is that now she has to turn the key and then turn the ignition switch with a screwdriver i am wondering how easy it is to change the barrel part will i have to just change the barrel part or will this affect the immobiliser ecu etc

is the key releasing the steering lock, but not turning the ignition switch ?
you used to be able to buy the barrel only on most cars, and we used to file the tumblers down to suit the original key, but i,m not sure on your model

Or like on the fords buy a barrel with a kit and match the tumblers to the old barrel.

hi thanks for the fast reply yes you have to turn the barrel to release the dteering lock it just doesnt seem to turn the ignition switch so i thought go to the scraapys buy the rest of the barrel and change it over just dont know how it will affect the electronic parts
