Rightio picked up my micra a few weeks ago.

i plan on basically fixing her up and useing her as a daily drive. its currently decalred sorn and needs a bit of work doing to it.

what i do know is.

1. The car hasnt been ran for about a year.
2. The battery is basically shagged.
3. Needs welding doing to the sills
4. Brake discs looked rusted.
5. Still rolls, but needs new tyres.

Now the fun part.

Its a 1l. But has a 1.3 engine in the back. the owner told me he had plans to replace the engine, but unforseen circumstances ect stopped him.

I have no idea on the condition of the 1.3 engine.

I will get some pictures up asap.

by the way i picked up the car and engine for 50 quid. bargin either way

oh and i got a new front xmember already waiting for me. just have to figure out a way to get to to my mates garage. with no tax no mot the plod wont be too happy :/

should prob replace all fluids & filter if its not ran for few yrs. if ur gonna fit the 1.3 block, do it afterwards
4L engine oil £20
oil filter £5
air filter £11
brake fluid £4
3L coolant £18 nissan premix
3L gearbox £23

new battery bout £50
welding sills bout £30 a hole

pair front discs £32
front pads £18
check the rear shoes have enough thickness. new ones £26
4 tyres from £167

to fit the 1.3 block you may need:
1.3 rear rubber mount £10
1.3 rear mount bracket £10
1.3 gear selector rods £35
with the engine & gearbox split may as well replace the clutch too £35

also check the cost of declaring the 1.3 upgrade to insurance and dvla

when sorn'ed, maybe get it trailered there?

right just a little update, chucked an engine in to see what would happen.... started at first turn of the key. Drove it around my carpark and apart from noise coming from rusted brakes, it felt and pulled fine. im quite pleased with it to be honest!

yupp as i said the guy was guna scrap it but i took it off his hand. but i have a problem with insuring it i already have a 306 dt, and this was going to be a project/ play thing but i cant seem ito get insurance under 700 quid :/ dont know what to do. saying that. i could get rid of my 306... id have to see about turbo'ing this one tho
