Bad news about the engine. Did they promise things they weren't capable of?

My car is now in the paint shop for about a month.

nah i payed the ferryman before i got to the other side. so he spent my money 19 months ago now gives me "i'm snowed under in old work" excuses over and over. when really he just doesn't have the professionalism to get the job done. gonna have to send it away to be worked on by someone who isn't sick of seeing it. maybe port city engines. unless you know someone closer and good at what they do.

That's always a gamble. Whilst negotiating for my paint job I made sure I only paid 30% up front.

Don't really know any good workshops to be honest. My dad has 30 years mechanic experience so we're rebuilding the engine ourselves (plr doing the work that requires specialist tools).

Here's a picture of the stuff on my table haha. I'll post some up close photos of parts tomorrow. Didn't take any today.

My dad is insisting I replace the bearings as they're likely 150k + old.

How much were your Nissan bearings?

Genuine set of bearings 'cost a fortune'?

Something like $50 or 60 per pair of bearings = 5 x crankshaft and 4 x bigend

asdame (paul) used MA10/MA12 bearings iirc guys, and they are graded into precise sizes too eh

Not too sure ssuk, I don't have a digital scale that shows grams. Any reason in particular you'd like to know?
