Installing seat covers on folding seats

Ok, sure, you can slide a seat cover over the chair and away you go. But what about when you need to get into the back? Fumble around with the slider with the seat cover in the way? NO THANKS!

Heres a little obvious tip on installing seat covers.

Granted your cover isnt a family heirloom, youre going to have to give it a little cut. First, put the chair cover over the seat usual. Sit in it and leave it for about a day of normal driving, allowing the cover to settle and find its own place.

The next day, with a SHARP flat knife, (no steak knives) feel for the slot that the slider lives in and carefully cut down the slot. Lift up the slider and continue the cut down to the end of the slot. With this single straight cut the entire mechanism should fit through. Now ease the edges under the plastic slot so that its flush and looks nice.

Well! Thats it! Easy job with a stunning professional look.

Keep on Micra'ing! :D

I have sheepskin covers on BOTH my Micras. Would not be without them.
Cool in summer and warm in winter.Bloody leather is so cold and man in the middle of summer talk about getting hot in those private places. Slide around all over the place also. Sheepskin keep you nice and snug.
Oh ****e I must be over 50!!!
