Howto: Change Standard Air Filter

This is a small demonstration on howto write a howto!

Lets change that grubby air filter of yours. According to the Service charts, every 20,000km you should change your air filter. Another good step, is every oil change, check the felt particle catcher in your airbox for muck and re-oil it if needed.

Step 1. Unlatch airbox

Step 2. Inspect air filter and consider if it does need a change.

Step 3. Inspect felt catcher.

Now we have a good idea what needs to be done,

Step 4. Remove old filter and/or take out felt catcher.

Step 5. Dust off the felt catcher and if needed put a little motor oil on the top side of the catcher. Not too much, but just enough so that when you squeeze it, you can see a bit of clean oil.

Step 6. With whatever oil left on your finger, rub the plastic inside rim of the airbox, to remove all dust and gunk.

Step 7. Re-insert the felt catcher into its slot and place the new air filter into its place.

Step 8. Place the airbox cover back ontop of the filter, and carefully wiggle it so it is snug and flush with the base of the airbox.

Step 9. Latch back up the clips and give it a test!

I hope this informs someone. Its a simple job that you can do yourself. Also, lets hope this starts a new wave of Howto's!!! If anyone has anything to add (or disagree with) to this, leave a message after it and i'll edit it in.

Happy Micra'ing.
