High pitched noise

I have just reversed my mams car into the yard and I put the heater on to demist the front window a bit, when I did this, it emitted a high pitched scream, as if some metal was rubbing on metal as the fan was spinning, any ideas?

Is there any water on the pasanger foot well? Does it make the sound when on full or on the other settings too? It could be that the matrix on it's way out or there is somthing wrong with the heater fan.

Pepeat what you did and have a listen around and see were the noise is coming from then get back to us (Y)

Heaters only work on full lol (needs a fuse) so yeah, blowers were on full whack, was too late to turn it on and go looking around at the time so will have a look when I get up. Cheers mate.

Sometimes a loose alternator belt will squeal, due to the increased demand for power. So are you sure its not that?.

i was thinking that reading down the thread mine was awful about a week ago sounded like an old white van!
