So I bought a 1990 k10 1.2L LS a bit ago. Cost me $900 CAD with 124k on it and it seemed like everything would hold together at least for a while. Here is what it looked like:

Yeah those are 17s. The tread was abso-atrocious so I had to swap them up with the stock 12" steel wheels. The guy I bought it off apparently had to fold/cut/caulk a bunch of the body to get it working with the alloys. It still rubbed on tight corners with more than one person in the car.

I also recently found out that he pretty much just threw the exhaust on there without much concern for a sealed connection.

He took out the cat. converter and where the intermediate pipe should connect up near the engine I can see that it is just sort of hanging with a big ol' gap created from using some 2 1/2" tubing where there should have been 1 1/2" or so.

Took it to a mechanic the other day and he told me it needs new rear shocks, front lower control arms and an alternator belt. He was quoting me like $1600 for it all so I am thinking I will not take it back there. He was quoting 6 hours at $90/hr to do all of that work. Including almost a full hour just for the alternator belt. Not to mention I have been looking around at parts from links on this site and even with the pricey shipping it would cost half what he wants for them.

From the looks of it I could replace the shocks and alt. belt on my own and maybe if I get some direction the control arms as well.
