Engine movement

when i press the accelerator and take my foot off it there is a loud sort of squeaky knocking noise coming from the engine bay. when the engine is hot i pushed down on the air box and i could here this noise. However when it rains the noise disappears for a few days. so it seems like something is in need of oiling or greasing. Any ideas what it could be?

your engine mounts are/already have disintegrated.

This may be a silly suggestion... but it doesn't sound like something to be taken lightly, why not take it to a garage? Or is that sort of noise not something to worry about?

it could be worn ball joints, they can make a squeaky clunk.

A garage will charge you £90 before they even open the bonnet, then you gotta pay for parts and labour. Don't go to a garage til you know what is wrong.
