ecu

Nistune is a very good solution IMO, allows most of the features of an aftermarket ecu for much less with no wiring. Ed @ fusion Motorsport is the best to talk to.

If you've got a coilpack Micra these can map or chip your ECU.

If you have the pre coilpack ECU then a Nistune add-on daughter board is what most do.
I went a different route and built my own Megasquirt ms3x ECU, that can be used in any other cars too.
There are other standalone ECU's out there also, such as Omex. Depends how much you want to spend.

When you fitted the Megasquirt how did you pick up the crank position? Can it be done through the distributor?

Ah! Yours is coil pack.
Like the OP I too am looking at tuning through the ECU.
I have been searching for an hour now for micras with either Nistune or Megasquirt but I'm not finding much usefull information.

Pros and cons of each.
What else you need in the way of sensors.
