Dials problem

was doing some work on my car this morning. took the dials unit off to route a cable behind.

plugged everything back in. went to pop out to tescos. and the speedo was "sticking" .

came home checked the plug on the back of the dials and it seemed okay, but no gages work.

i still get all lights for indicators etc but dont have temp gage,fuel or speedo.


need help.

mine did that i jsut reversed and it hasnt done it since - it used to stick at 10mph until i went above it

thanks ill try that but i dont see how reversing will fix the temp gage and fuel gages. hmmm.

its the speedo cable iirc. it only happens on prefacelift k11's (cable driven speedo) as facelift k11's have an electric driven speedo

I blew a fuse and had the same happen, might be worth checking

can you remember which fuse?
just trying to save myself some time without having to check every fuse and relay.

ive checked the meter fuse.

mine is a facelift K11, and its not just the speedo its all the gages temp and fuel.

ive tried a new gage unit and it does the same thing so my clock are probally alright. so its now something on the car.

i can just use my satnav for speed but i dont have a clue how much petrol ive got left .

Did you check every fuse?

yea, checked every fuse in the passenger fuse box.
and every fuse in the battery fuse box.

its sorted, thank god. lol

turned out to be a loose wire somewhere behind the fusebox. so its sorted for the time being.
